FRALEIGH, William Paul

(May 31, 1930 – May 15, 2015)

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of William (Bill) Paul Fraleigh on May 15, 2015. Bill died peacefully at his family home in Waterdown, where he lived for over forty years with his dearly departed wife Doreen.

Bill was best known for his boundless energy, entrepreneurial business savvy, perseverance, prowess on the golf course, and playful sense of humour.

He was a successful business man who built many businesses through the Enfield Group of companies. He was a pioneer in the window industry, and forever changed the skyline and landscape of Hamilton, Burlington, and Waterdown with his many real estate developments from residential high rise buildings to commercial warehousing and parking lots.

Bill was most comfortable, and most at home with his wife and best friend Doreen; at his desk working alongside Helen Demains (his business confidante and friend of 64 years); or on the golf course.

He is survived by his six children. The three youngest children with his wife Doreen – Sandra (Scott); Bill (Kim) and Brad (Jenny) and their families. The three oldest children with his first wife Patricia Cassel – Mark (Liliana), Greg (Cathy) and Todd (Debbie) and their families. He will be missed by his seventeen grandchildren and step grandchildren: Nolan, Connor, James, Chantelle, Liam, Sarah, Julia, Bradley, Lia, Rebecca, Chrissy, Jake, Evan, Lane, Breeann, Justin and Victoria.

Bill leaves behind his loving sisters Doreen and Beverly and their families. He also leaves behind his caregiver and personal assistant Debbie Klein, and many close, and longstanding friends.

The family will miss the wonderful times in Florida; skiing in Ellicottville, dinners and golf games at the Hamilton Golf and Country Club, and the countless family gatherings at the family home in Waterdown.

There will be a Visitation at KITCHING STEEPE AND LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME, 146 Mill Street North in Waterdown, on Thursday May 21st from 4-7 p.m., and Friday May 22nd from 2-5 p.m.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Juravinski Cancer Centre would be greatly appreciated.
