After a 2 year battle with cancer Donna passed peacefully in Ottawa on Tuesday October 15, 2013 in her 64th year.  Survived by her husband of 39 years, Joe Hiscott. Loving mother of Laura and Ashley Hiscott.  Sister of Cathy Fenje (Howard Rees), Kevin Whalen (Debbie) and Brian Whalen.  Predeceased by sister Lynn Barbowski (John).  Donna is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. On October 15, 2013 at Shalom Manor, Grimsby, Jacoba DeBolster died peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She is now safely in the arms of Jesus. She is the beloved wife of Henry R. DeBolster and loving mother of: Geri and Marty VanEngen, Bert and Jane DeBolster, Nel and Andy Straatsma, Len and Elaine DeBolster and Joanne and Jim Teeuwsen. She was blessed with 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She will be sorely missed by her dear sister Nel Vlot in The Netherlands and her many friends. In 1995 he was joined by his son Jeremy and his wife Josie. In his retirement, Barry rediscovered his love of fishing and spent many hours trying to land the big one. Darling “Skipper” for 75 years (72 years married) to her sailor, Douglas Gregory. Beloved big sister to Joan Kedge and Les McGlashon. Loving memories will be treasured by her children; Bev Robinson, Kim and Pam Gregory and Lorraine Robertson, her grandchildren; Tricia, Sharryl, Doug, Jessica and Mark and her great grandchildren; Katie, Emily, Ben, Ryland, Jacob and Colby. FORREST, Margaret Ann (nee Kucman) of Waterdown

In her 72nd year, Margaret passed away suddenly in St. Joseph’s Hospital after a long struggle with myeloma and kidney disease. Margaret is survived by her son Stephen (Kirsten), daughter Holly (Roland), ex-husband Fraser, brothers Frank (Aaroon), Joseph (Frances), Allan (Rosemarie), sister Donna (Jim), and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Margaret was the eldest of five children and grew up on a farm near Port Colborne, Ontario and spent most of her adult life in the Hamilton area.  She worked for many years at McMaster University, and then for the past 25 coordinating and managing the creative problem-solving business of Dr. Min Basadur.  Her warm smile, sunny disposition, and love and dedication to her family will be missed by all who knew her.

The family extends sincere appreciation to the many relatives and friends who have assisted Margaret in her long illness and to Dr. Kouroukis, Dr. Clase, and CCAC.

JONES, Hilda oHildaJones-largef Port Dover, passed away at Dover Cliffs LTC, on Sunday, September 22, 2013 in her 89th year. Cherished mother of Gary Jones (Susan Robertson) of Port Dover and Anthony Jones of Port St. Lucy, Florida. Dearly loved grandmother of Rosie, Brittany, Konan and Toran, great-grandmother of Rhys, Brooke, Dharia, Amber and Jordon and great-great-grandmother of Brody. Hilda was predeceased by her husband Alfred, daughter Karen, son Gordon, her parents John and Jessie and twelve brothers and sisters. Hilda was a proud Scot by birth and a proud Canadian by choice. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Friends are invited to meet with the family to share their memories of Hilda on Friday September 27, 2013 from noon to 2 pm, followed by a service at 2 pm at THOMPSON WATERS FUNERAL HOME, 102 First Ave., Port Dover (519) 583-1530. Mum_1920Mum and Dad ToastingKOOME, Mrs. Patricia (nee Protheroe), of the Elgin Manor, R.R.#1, St. Thomas, passed away at her residence on Friday, September 20, 2013, in her 82nd year.  Wife of Johannes L. “John” Koome.  Mother of Geoff Koome (Sonya) of Dorchester, Katherine Edwards (Robert) of St. Thomas, and Melissa Koome (Angel Putter) of Hamilton.  Grandmother of Troy Edwards of St. Thomas.  Sister of Mary Brunelle (Jean) of Montréal, QC, late John Protheroe (Shirley of Halifax, NS), and late Fred Protheroe (Tanya of Halifax, NS). Also survived by several nieces and nephews.  Born in Montréal, QC, November 15, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Mary (nee Kelly) Protheroe.  In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place.  A public memorial service will be held  at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160) on Tuesday, September 24th at 1:30 p.m.  Relatives and friends will be received by the family one hour prior.  Inurnment in the columbarium at South Park Cemetery.  Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society of Elgin-St. Thomas or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario gratefully acknowledged.

Passed away peacefully at Mt. Nemo Christian Nursing Home on September 20, 2013 in his 90th year. Husband of Addie Patriquin (Henderson). Dear father of Russlyn (David) Patriquin-Dyke of Carrolls Corners, NS and Lillis Butlin (Tony Spitman) of Dundas, ON. Loved grandfather of Nicholas and Lyndsay Butlin. Predeceased by his brother Ken and survived by his sister Verna Fraser of Westville, NS and sister-in-law Grace Patriquin of Pickering, ON. Cremation has taken place. Friends may visit with the family at KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME, 146 Mill St. N., Waterdown on Sunday from 7-9 p.m. where a Celebration of Life Service will take place on Monday, September 23, 2013 at 11 a.m. Reception to follow. COGHLIN, Bruce L.-At his Nithview home in New Hamburg, on Friday, September 20, 2013, Bruce Coghlin in his 91st year.  Beloved husband of Beatrice (nee Johns).  Dear father of Linda Kroetch (Stephen Payne) of Wroxeter, the late David Bruce (2001), Dayle Coghlin (Sandy) of Waterloo and Jaye Coghlin of Wellesley.  Dear papa of Craig, April, Scott, Sara and Andrew and great-grandfather of Connor, Cody, Makenna and Brookelynn.  Predeceased by his parents; Stanley Coghlin and Elsie (nee Torance) and his brother William in 2012.  Bruce was the owner of the St. Clements Feed & Seed.  He delivered mail in the rural areas of St. Clements and retired from Jones Feed Mill in Linwood.  In 1971, Bruce purchased a farm in the St. Clements area for hog and cow calf farming.  Friends may call at the FUTHER-FRANKLIN FUNERAL HOME, 1172 Henry Street, Wellesley, on Monday, September 23, 2013 from 1 p.m. till time of funeral service at 2 p.m.  Interment to follow at St. Mark’s Lutheran Cemetery, Wellesley.  As an expression of sympathy, donations to a charity of choice would be appreciated.

PLANTE, AurorePeacefully passed on Friday, August 23rd, 2013 at the age of 90 years. Predeceased in 1980 by her husband Armand Plante. Daughter of the late Ludger and of the late Léa (née Trottier) Simon. Loving mother of Normand Plante (Leona) and Diane Bozic (Steven) both of Markstay, Alice Boivin (Jean-Paul) of Coniston and Francine Soullière (René) of Sudbury. Predeceased by her sons Jean-Paul Plante (Georgette of Coniston) and Hubert Plante. Dear sister of Jeanne Armstrong of Montréal, Qc, Cécile Laviolette of Sudbury, Alice Lavallée of Hamilton and Léa Rochon (Earl) of Warren. Predeceased by her brothers Arthur (late Jacqueline), Udger (Antoinette of Sudbury) and by her sisters Melina Renaud and Julienne Grenier. Sadly missed by her 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the Lasalle Residence Staff for the care given during Mom’s stay. Aurore loved music and enjoyed dancing. In her younger years, gardening was a great passion of hers. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Cooperative Funeral Home, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury on Monday, August 26, 2013 from 2-5 and 7-9:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 27th, 2013 at 11 a.m. at St-Mark’s Church at Markstay. Copy of Lindsay OriginalLINDSAY- William Ralph “Bill” Lindsay passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at the age of 90.  Bill is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Nellie; his daughter Sue (Ron) Gilmore of St. Thomas and his son Ralph (Susanne) Lindsay of London; his grandchildren Bob (Rosie) Gilmore and their sons Jonathan, Max and Ryan of St. Thomas, Michael (Kathy) Gilmore and their son Drew of Burlington, Dave Gilmore and his sons Tyler and Preston of Texas, Nicholas Lindsay of London and Brent (Stephanie) Lindsay and their son Dylan of London; his sister Bonnie (Clifford) Crozier of Toronto; his sister-in-law Edith Allen of St. Thomas; and by several nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by his brothers-in-law Oliver Allen, Mac (Olive) McKinnon and Bill (Nell) Allen.  Bill was a retired General Services Coordinator for the City of St. Thomas.  Cremation has taken Place.  A private graveside service was held in Elmdale Cemetery.  Arrangements entrusted to Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570).  If desired, donations to a charity of choice would be appreciated.  Personal condolences to the family can be made at www.shawnjacksonfuneralhome.com
