SweersArthur “Art” Ray Sweers of Chesley, formerly of Westover and Burgoyne, passed away suddenly at South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Chesley on Thursday, December 26, 2014 in his 75th year.

Beloved husband and best friend of Arleen (Ross). Art will be sadly missed by his siblings, Mabel Tennant of Paris and Ivan (Shirley) Sweers of Westover. He will live on in the memories of his nine nieces and nephews and all of Arleen’s extended family. Art was predeceased by his brother Cecil and his parents, George and Elizabeth (Kew) Sweers.

Our father left this earth on Saturday, December 6th, 2014 at 7:05 p.m. He passed away peacefully in his 80th year with his family by his side. With no regrets, George had a life filled with love, family, farm life, music and challenges. He was born May 30th, 1934 in Velp, Holland. He married his island sweetheart Margaret Eleanor (nee Thomson) on December 12, 1959. They enjoyed each other’s company for 55 years and then retired, joining the snowbirds in Florida, then making a home in Dundas, ON. Much loved father to Anita, Bridget and Sheila, his three blue-eyed daughters. Never having sons, he had the next best thing and is fondly remembered by his sons-in-law Frank and Andy. Loved and cherished Opa to Garrett, Stephanie, Kerstin, and Erin. George loved life but loved his family more. He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by his younger brother Willem and his wife Milagros, nieces Karla, Michelle, nephew Ken, and many friends. Sweetheart, Husband, Dad, Mr. Meyrink, Opa — you will be missed but not forgotten. Dear grandmother of Bryan (Jessica), Ivan (Stefanie), Jennifer (Daniel), Matthew, Heather & Samantha. Cherished great grandmother of Liam. She will be fondly remembered by her many brother in-laws, sister in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Priscilla was a nursing assistant at the Shriners Hospital in Montreal before marrying Gerald in 1955 and moving to Ontario to start their lives together. After raising her family she worked at Sears, in the candy department. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and she loved reading her numerous cook books looking for the perfect new recipe. According to Priscilla’s wishes, a Private Family Service will take place. Passed away at the Woodstock General Hospital on Sunday November 16, 2014. Evelyn (nee Gregory) of Lakehurst, formerly of Ancaster in her 90th year. Wife of the late Doug Martin (2006). Dear mother of Gayle Simms (Michael) of Dundas, Wendy Bulley (Garry) of Hamilton, Bonnie Thompson (Paul) of Woodstock, Wayne of Paris, Bradley of Cayuga and Kevin of Lakehurst. Sadly missed by her 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Predeceased by her granddaughter Courtney and sister Marion Grundy (Doug). Cremation has taken place. Evelyn was an avid and gifted quilter and long-time member of the Buckhorn Quilters’ Guild. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Dear mother of Jane Lisk, Laura (Timothy) Dodds , Catherine (Peter) Seniuk all of Trenton, Robert Brown of Elgin, Kimberly (Mark) Tye of Seeley’s Bay and Lisa Tye (Chris Burns) of Lyndhurst. Predeceased by daughter, Sandra Mraz. Dear sister of Bill (June) Oliver of Morton, Marni Jenkins and Emma Perrault (Bill) of Mt. Brydges and Fred (Pat) Oliver of Oshawa. Predeceased by sister, Shirley Bauder. Fondly remembered by 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren as well as son-in-law, Dan Mraz ( Norma) of Prescott. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Ed served proudly in the Canadian Forces with the Fort Garry Horse Regiment. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. Beloved wife of the late David Fullerton. Loving mother of Jennifer Barnes (Tony) and the late Ian Fullerton. Cherished Nana to Joanne Martin (Chris) and Philip Barnes (Guylaine); and great Nana to Andrew, Laura, Jemma, Olivia, Jesse and Ethan. Jim, beloved husband of Ruth (deceased), loving father, grandfather and brother, passed suddenly after a brief illness at London Health Science Centre – Victoria Campus, surrounded by his family. Jim was known by all as a loving and gregarious person who gave of himself and always reached out in kindness to others. He was the proud owner/operator of Fountain’s Custom Drapery, first in Burlington and then in London for over 50yrs – known for his excellence in custom design drapery/upholstery. Jim is survived by his children Phyllis Laufman of Dutton, Jacqueline Fountain of London, Jeffrey Fountain and Jennifer (spouse) of Hamilton, Cheryl Fountain-Gore and Randolph (spouse) of Iona Station and Eric Fountain. He is survived by his beloved grandchildren Kaitlyn, Ayden, Dylan and Braiden; survived as well by sisters Marjory and Kathy of Burlington. He is predeceased by his beloved wife of 54 years Ruth (died 12/22/2013) and brothers Terry and Paul. We love you. Donations to the Diabetes Association would be appreciated. Peacefully passed away after a long battle with cancer at The Carpenter Hospice on Wednesday November 12, 2014 at the age of 44. Loving wife of Tim for 18 years. Cherished mother of Matt and Hannah. Beloved daughter of John and Joanne Borer, Diane and Mike Dales, and daughter in law of Ted and Evy Dredge. Dear sister of Lynn McArthur (Steve Sukens), Scott Borer (Kathy), and sister in law of Todd Dredge (Brenda), and Tammy Frasson (John). Much loved Aunt to Brianne (Andrew), Ashley, Madison, Joelle, Ben, Emma, Mitchel, Thomas, Noah, Amanda, Austin, Cody, Michael, and Josie.
