Beloved husband of Dorothy (nee Alton) and the late Pauline (nee Duncan), 1999. Dear father of Vince (Linda) Weeks and loved Grandpa of Trevor (Melanie), Julie (Dan) Sarya, and Great-grandpa of Lily and Matthew. Dear step-father of Dianne (John) Thrasher, Linda (Jim) Thomasson, the late John (Peggy) Stetler, and Bev Lane and step-grandfather to Kevin, Kathryn (Jason), Darcie (Serge), Kelly (Andrew), Maegan (Scott), and step-great-grandfather to James, Mathew, Shauna, Paige, Abby, and Riley. Predeceased by his brothers Irving and Lloyd Weeks. Ernie was the last surviving charter member of the Rotary Club of Waterdown, served as a bush pilot and instructor in the RCAF during WWII, was a member of the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, a member of the Knights of Columbus, Waterdown, and was the former proprietor of Weeks Home Hardware, Waterdown. PRUSKY, Karen of Port Dover passed away Monday December 16, 2013 at the Juravinski Hospital Hamilton in her 56th year. Karen is survived by her loving husband Emil, cherished children Derek (Sara) of Port Dover, Krystal of Langton, daughter-in-law Joanne and precious grandchildren Steven, Brian, Nathan, Emil Jr. and Shinese. Karen is also survived by her siblings Duane (Char), Dave (Gail), Sandy (Jim), Patti (Glen), Diane and sister-in-law Margo all of Winnipeg. Karen loved to travel, go on scenic rides, had a thing for shoes and a love for her mini horse Annie. A loving person who would much rather give than receive. Hunter- Suddenly with his family by his side at the Bluewater Health-Palliative Care Unit, Sarnia, on Friday December 13, 2013. Sam Hunter, age 61 years of Corunna. Loving father of Dave Hunter of Windsor, Bo Hunter and Tawny Cooper both of Sarnia. He will be lovingly remembered by; his grandchildren, Madison Hunter and Blayd James; his brothers, Dave Hunter (Sue) of Jersyville and Ed Hunter (Linda) of Hamilton and by his sister, Pat Mackan (Mike) of Jarvis. He was predeceased by his parents Sam and Rose Hunter. Sam was and avid motorcycle enthusiast having owned and enjoyed many Harley’s over the years. He worked for many years at Cabot Carbon and was a huge sports fan and player having played football, hockey and baseball and was a devout Cincinnati Bengals fan. CHRISTOPHER: Patricia “Pat” (nee Gignac) – A resident of Shrewsbury, and formerly of Cambridge, Pat passed peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus with her family at her side on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at the age of 62. Born in Cambridge, Pat was the daughter of Angeline Ball (nee Godbout) and the late Jean-Marie Gignac. Much loved daughter-in-law of Pauline Cunning. Beloved wife of Al Cunning. Loving mother of Brandy Grumdstrom of Hamilton and Sherry Grumdstrom of Waterloo. Proud grandmother of Justyn, Raymond, Chelsea and Nicholas. Great-grandmother to Mariah. Dear sister to Richard Gignac, Pauline Gignac (late Stefan), Rachel Gignac (Jerry), Mark Gignac, Anita Reed (Kathleen) and the late Ivan Gignac. Also missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. As per Pat’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Loved father of Ernie (Carine) Hudson. Dear Grandpa of Ben Hudson. Loved brother of Diane (Bernie) Homonick, Jeff (Donna) Hudson, and Brian (Michelle) Hudson. Dear son-in-law of Joyce Read and brother-in-law of Norm (Barb) Read, Dave (Liz) Read, Bob Read, and Brian (Lisa) Read. Also missed by his aunt Lori Gibbons. Predeceased by his parents Ernie and Doris Hudson, father-in-law Art Read, aunt Edith Daniels and uncle John Gibbons. Ernie was a retired elementary school teacher with the Hamilton Wentworth School Board and an avid outdoorsman. He was a member and volunteer at Ancaster Senior Achievement Centre (ASAC), where he participated in the Golden Swing Band, was a leader of the Hiking Group, and was the District Coordinator of the 55+ Games. Cremation has taken place. Honoured grandmother of Torin, Tyler and Maegan. marion willis 001WILLIS, Mrs. Marion (nee Leask), of St. Thomas, passed away at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Thursday, December 5, 2013, in her 94th year.  Loving wife for 57 years to the late Wilfred G. Willis (2003).  Dear sister of Lila Loutit of Edmonton, AB, Joan McGuire (Dan) of Ancaster, ON, Gail Wuotila of Calgary, AB, and Ruth Brown of Winnipeg, MB.  Also fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by six sisters, Jean Dawson, Pearl Balderston, Glenna Washburn, Joyce McDonald, Florence Cobban, and Shirley Kipot, and five brothers, Bernie, William “Bill”, Murray, Garth, and Jack Leask.  Born in Bethune, SK, December 15, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Mattie (nee Tucker) Leask.  In 1959, Marion moved with her husband from Flin Flon, MB to Talbotville where they owned and operated the Cardinal Court Motel until 1969, and then moved to St. Thomas.  In Flin Flon, she was employed for many years as a secretary and accountant for the Department of Health and Public Welfare.  Marion was a member of Central United Church, St. Thomas.  She was a very active volunteer, having been co-ordinator of volunteers at the Valleyview Home, a craft volunteer at Metcalfe Gardens and a Tuck Shop volunteer at the Elgin Manor.  Marion enjoyed crafts and writing and formerly enjoyed bowling, trailering and traveling.  A funeral and committal service will be held at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160) on Tuesday, December 10th at 1:30 p.m. with public visitation one hour prior to the service.  Interment will be made privately in Elmdale Memorial Park.  Memorial donations to Central United Church re: Building Fund, the Canadian Red Cross or the charity of one’s choice gratefully acknowledged.

Keat, Lenore Marjorie (Slade) at Bluewater Health Monday, December 2 in her 89th year. Lenore passed away peacefully with her family by her side into the arms of her beloved husband Alan (1993). Dear mother of Judi (Arthur) Stokes and Nancy Keat. Step grandmother to Arthur’s children, Iain, Douglas (Tina), and Heather (Jeremy), and step great grandmother to Connor. Loving sister of Keith (Moira) Roden. Loving sister-in-law of Dorothy Keat (Bob Riddle). Predeceased by brother Bob (2005) (Elaine) (2007) Slade, sister-in-law Grace (2008) (Bill) (2005) Jones and brother-in-law Bill Keat (1996). Loving aunt to her nieces and nephews. MASON, LaLaird Masonird Ian passed away peacefully after a brief illness December 2, 2013 at Norfolk General Hospital Simcoe in his 86th year. Laird is survived by his loving daughter Cheryl Copeman, and precious grandchildren Alexis and Lee. Brother and brother-in-law to Ora (Annie) Mason of Port Dover and Muriel Birdsell of Renton. Laird is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife Doris, son Michael, brothers-in-law John Murphy and Wilf Birdsell, sister-in-law Edith Murphy and son-in-law Dick Copeman. Laird was best known as the local plumber plying his trade for over 40 years in the area before handing the reigns of the business over to his son-in-law Dick. Former president of the Port Dover Lions Club and member of the I.O.O.F. for over 60 years. Laird will be remembered by all who knew him. A graveside service will be held at the Port Dover Cemetery Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 10am, with all family and friends invited to attend. Reverend Frank Walker officiating. DeRobin McFarlanearly loved mother of Rebecca and Amanda. Proud daughter of Verna Watkinson, loving step-daughter of Florence Watkinson. Cherished sister and sister-in-law of Richard and Joanne Watkinson of Belleville. Will be lovingly remembered by Craig, Jo-Anne and best friend Patty Stanley. Predeceased by father Charles “Chuck” Watkinson and sister Raye-Ellen. Robin loved the water and boating; she was the first female to serve as Commodore of the Port Dover Yacht Club and loved crossing the pond for the “Dover Days in Erie”. At Grey Bruce Health Centre, Owen Sound, Olive Marguerite Mehlfuhrer  (nee Williams) passed away Thurs. Nov. 21 in her 92nd year. Survived by husband Theodor of Owen Sound, son Steven of Eugenia, daughter Linda and son-in-law Mark of Hamilton, brother Henry Williams and sister-in-law Polly Clifford of St. John N.B., and cousins Jane (Wilf) MacPhee and Eloise (Cal) Murray of Nova Scotia. Predeceased by brothers Clair and Ritchie Williams. Olive was a thoughtful and loving mother and wife known in the community for her kindness. She was born in Annapolis Royal, N.S. where she worked as a telephone operator before moving to Ontario and later settling in Owen Sound. She loved doing landscape oil paintings, travelling and particularly enjoyed knitting bonnets that she donated to local hospitals for newborn babies. Burial has already taken place at Shiloh Cemetery in Chatsworth in keeping with her Baha’i faith. The family will receive friends at Fawcett Funeral Home, Flesherton on Saturday, December 7 from 2:00pm until the time of service at 3:00pm. Great Great Grandfather of Alex & Jennifer Calvert. Bill was the loving son of the late Charles and Lillian McEwen; all his siblings and in-laws predeceased him. Stewart McEwen, Hugh McEwen, Gladys & Orville Zavitz, John & Julia McEwen, Eleanor & Emerson McLeod. Bill was a retired employee of Sterling Fuels and enjoyed almost 30 years of retirement. Dad could always be found outside puffing on a good cigar and enjoying the weather outside. He loved his dog Bennie and his flowers, his many friends and wonderful neighbors will sadly miss him. Dad always looked forward to his Sunday morning breakfast with his Cozy Corners family.

INNES, WilliWilliam Innes 2am Howell of Port Dover passed away suddenly on November 19, 2013 in his 88th year. Beloved husband of Iris, loving father and father-in-law of Graeme of Milton, Julia of Montreal, and Andrew (Judy) of England. Cherished grandfather of Jonathan and Katie. William is also survived by his brother Alick (Gail) of Oakville. Predeceased by parents William and Ivey. William loved airplanes and spent his entire working life in the aeronautics industry. This passion continued into his retirement, spending time building model aircraft. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. In keeping with William’s wishes cremation has taken place. At LHSC – University Campus – London, on Tuesday, November 19, 2013, FAYE ELIZABETH (nee Waite) WILSON, of Sarnia, passed away at the of age 79. Beloved wife of the late George Lee Wilson (2000). Loving mother of George Lee Wilson and the late Richard Wilson. Cherished grandmother of Gary, Liticia, and Lee Wilson. Also survived by her brother Harry Waite and his wife Wilma of Barrie and many great grand-children and nieces and nephews. Faye along with her late husband Lee were well known and liked in the restaurant business and Faye and Lee had retired as the former owners of Lee’s Snack House as well Lee and Faye’s at the Sarnia Farmers Market. Funeral services will be held at the D.J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME and CREMATION CENTRE on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow at Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home one hour prior to service time. Memorial gifts in memory of Faye may be made to the Sarnia Humane Society or the Brain Injury Association would be greatly appreciated by the family.

church0001Died suddenly at home on Monday November 18, 2013 in his 73rd year.  Al of Wasaga Beach, formerly of Burlington, beloved husband of Evelyn for almost 50 years.  Loving father of Alan Jr. and Arlene Kennedy and her husband Jeff Lofft. Cherished “Pops” of his grandson Matthew.  Al is predeceased by his siblings Marilyn Manning and Richard Church.  Al is survived by Evelyn’s brother Marcel (Sheila) Leach and Evelyn’s sisters Theresa (Larry Ethier), Rita (Harry Kraus) and Diane (Ken Archer).  Al had a distinguished career at Ontario Hydro. Oma to 17 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Survived by her siblings Babs (the late Kees) Van Dijk, Berta and Jan Haveman, John and Ann Bultje, Grace and George VanAndel, Bert and Jane Bultje, Albert and Grace Bultje, Linda and Ike Vanderee, Alberdine and Keith Lowerse, Phillip Bultje, and Sharon Bultje. MILLER, Helen (Nee McGuigan and formerly NASH) of Blenheim

Helen Catherine Miller (nee McGuigan and formerly Nash) passed away at the Blenheim Community Village on Saturday November 16, 2013 at the age of 93 years.  Born on July 14, 1920, Helen was one of five siblings born to the late Florence Hanna (Fitzgerald) and Virgil Gladstone McGuigan.  She is survived by her brother Robert Gladstone McGuigan and her sisters-in-law Tina McGuigan and Mona McGuigan.  Helen was predeceased by her siblings Maurice Lemoyne & Simone (Verhoeven) McGuigan, David Virgil & Helen (Pardo) McGuigan and James Fitzgerald McGuigan.  Helen taught at local schools including Erieau, Winston Churchill, Indian Creek, John N. Given and Queen Elizabeth Public Schools.  Helen was an amateur artist, a traveler and a story-teller.  She was a lover of God, Canada, beauty, style, nature, theatre, literature and the CBC.  She was generous, intellectually curious, a non-conformist, independent, spiritually seeking and a believer in prayer.  She was insistent on good English.

Helen will be missed by her husband Edward Stanley Miller, her son Michael Alan Nash and his wife Linda Ellen (Ljunggren) Nash, by her grandchildren Gabriel, Samuel and Daniel Nash, her step-grandchildren Christopher and Tara Miller, by her step great-grandchildren Alexandra and Abigail Miller and many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by her stepson Alexander (Sandy) Miller.  In keeping with Helen’s wishes, cremation has taken place.  A Memorial Service will be held at Trinity Anglican Church, 59 Ellen Street in Blenheim on Saturday November 30, 2013 at 12:00 noon.  A reception will follow at the church immediately following the service.  Friends wishing to remember Helen with a memorial donation are asked to consider Trinity Anglican Church or the Nature Conservancy of Canada.  Blenheim Community Funeral Home entrusted with Funeral Arrangements.  Online condolences for the family and memorial donations may be left at www.blenheimcommunityfuneralhome.com
