EMBLETON, John Gifford “Giff” of Port Dover passed away suddenly at Norfolk General Hospital on Sunday October 20, 2013 in his 80th year. Giff is survived by hEmbleton-largeis loving wife Gail, cherished children Kelly Lee and Abby Ellen both of Port Dover and adored grandchild John. Fondly remembered by his brother Lee and sister-in-law Colleen of Niagara Falls and brother -in-law Ian Smith also nephews Bobby and Michael. In his younger years Giff was a member of the drum corp, although no longer a member his passion for the corp continued, he was a car enthusiast, record collector and enjoyed trips with his daughter in her 18 wheeler. Barry was a well respected businessman and member of the Port Dover community; he was the owner/operator of Wicker & Son Insurance Brokers since 1963, which his father Allan started in 1931. In 1995 he was joined by his son Jeremy and his wife Josie. In his retirement, Barry rediscovered his love of fishing and spent many hours trying to land the big one. Barry was also a longtime member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church. Darling “Skipper” for 75 years (72 years married) to her sailor, Douglas Gregory. Beloved big sister to Joan Kedge and Les McGlashon. Loving memories will be treasured by her children; Bev Robinson, Kim and Pam Gregory and Lorraine Robertson, her grandchildren; Tricia, Sharryl, Doug, Jessica and Mark and her great grandchildren; Katie, Emily, Ben, Ryland, Jacob and Colby. Now reunited with her sisters Irene, Doris and Edna and brother Ron. Always awed by the beauty of nature, an expert on plants, birds and insects, the “bug” lady will live on in our hearts. FORREST, Margaret Ann (nee Kucman) of Waterdown

In her 72nd year, Margaret passed away suddenly in St. Joseph’s Hospital after a long struggle with myeloma and kidney disease. Margaret is survived by her son Stephen (Kirsten), daughter Holly (Roland), ex-husband Fraser, brothers Frank (Aaroon), Joseph (Frances), Allan (Rosemarie), sister Donna (Jim), and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Margaret was the eldest of five children and grew up on a farm near Port Colborne, Ontario and spent most of her adult life in the Hamilton area.  She worked for many years at McMaster University, and then for the past 25 coordinating and managing the creative problem-solving business of Dr. Min Basadur.  Her warm smile, sunny disposition, and love and dedication to her family will be missed by all who knew her.

The family extends sincere appreciation to the many relatives and friends who have assisted Margaret in her long illness and to Dr. Kouroukis, Dr. Clase, and CCAC.

Friends may call at the KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME, 146 Mill St. N., Waterdown on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. Interment to follow.

After a struggle, on Monday, September 30, 2013 at Joseph Brant Hospital, Burlington, Carl Kokot at the age of 79. Predeceased by his wife Joan and his mom and dad Michael and Lillian Kokot. Will be missed by his nieces Loretta and Angela and family, nephew Barry and family, niece Linda, great-niece Melody, great-nephew Aaron, great-great-nephew Jessie and great-great-niece Katie. Will also be missed by his many dear friends and neighbours.

Bill Adams of RR 8 Watford, passed away suddenly at home on Wednesday, October 2nd, 2013 at the age of 85. Bill is survived by his three children Marianne (Richard, 2007) Janes of Millgrove, Michael (Karey) Adams of Warwick Township and Monica (Joe) Dietrich of Formosa. He will be missed by 10 grandchildren; Chris (Kristin) Janes, Theresa Nemcek Adams (Chad), Tim Adams, Trevor (Ashley) Adams, Troy Adams (Amy), Tom Adams (Kirby), Tyler Adams (Kyla), Meagan (Mathieu) Jardelot, Lindsay (Mike) Cook, Ben Dietrich (Jessie) and 6.5 great grandchildren; Alex, Addison, Lilly, Elise, Sierra, and Dezmond. Special friend Patricia Wilson of Warwick Township and her children Michael of Thedford, Cheryl (Alan) of Watford, Frostel (Jeff) of Plympton Township as well as her 6 grandchildren. Also surviving are sister Margaret McLean (Bill Dodge) of Watford, sister-in-law Sandi Adams of Florida. Bill is predeceased by Florence Adams (nee Smith)(2012) and by brother Bob (1996), brother-in-law Ken McLean (1998), son-in-law Richard Janes (2007), parents Franklin Adams (1990) and Jeanette Adams (nee McEwen)(1991). A lifelong resident of Warwick Township, Bill retired from DOW Chemical in 1983 after more than 34 years with 30 years at the Latex Plant. At various times during his life he was involved in local Fastball, Hockey, Watford Road Race, International Silverstick and Ontario District Barber Shoppers. Visitation will be held at the WATFORD CHAPEL OF DENNING FUNERAL DIRECTORS on Saturday, October 5th, from 2-4 and 7-9pm with Funeral Service in the chapel on Sunday, October 6th at 2pm.
