HALLAM, Donald Roy – Passed away peacefully at his residence, Queenston Place, on Thursday May 8th, 2014 in his 91st year. Loving husband of Elizabeth ( Betty ) for 59 years, beloved father of Ross and his wife Karen, Laura and her husband, Brent Shergold, and Barry and his wife Suzanne. Proud grandfather of Steven and Megan, Brianne, Charlotte and Jessica, Amanda and Ema, great grandfather to Damon and Stephan, oldest brother of Brian, Richard, Ken and Margaret Charlebois, and predeceased by David. After service in the RCAF as a Spitfire pilot, he graduated from University of Toronto as an engineer and enjoyed a long and varied career at The Norton Company, now St. Gobain both in Chippawa and Trois Rivière. Don was the treasurer for many years at St. Paul’s Chippawa United Church, and choir member, a bridge player and avid golfer. Many thanks to Dr. David Dec, his staff and the staff at Queenston Place and the many Heath care workers who supported and cared for Don for so many years. Friends may visit at MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME 5917 Main Street, on Monday May 12th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A service to celebrate his life will be held at Stamford United Church, 3855 St. Peter Ave., on Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. A reception will follow and then following the reception entombment will take place at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens. If desired, donations in memory of Don may be made to the Canadian Downs Syndrome Society.
