Jilyan was a loving mother to her five children and adored grandmother to her ten grandchildren.  Spending time with them was one of her greatest joys in life.  She was an avid quilter, seamstress, photographer and knitter, and in her later years took up pottery, which she became passionate about.   She loved the outdoors, working in the garden, the ocean, warm summer days, and beautiful flowers.  In their retirement years, she and her husband enjoyed travelling to spend time with friends and family around the world.

A private family burial was held in the Green Meadow of the Cobourg Union Cemetery, on Tuesday, May 7, 2013.

A garden memorial will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 1:00 pm in Brighton. Please email davidmmhackett@gmail.com for directions,  or if you are unable to attend we would appreciate any reminiscences and photos to be sent to David’s email and we will include them in the celebration.
