Peacefully at home during the evening of Saturday, April 14, 2018, Mary passed away in her 101st year. Beloved wife of the late Thomas H. Gutteridge, CNR Station Master. Dear mother of Thomas Gutteridge, Colleen Ready (Larry) and Maureen Stevens (Jerry). Also loved by her 2 grandsons Nikola and Andrey and her 2 great grandsons Xavier and Wesley. Predeceased by her siblings, Clifford, Frieda, Frank, Margaret, Eva, Kathleen and Norma. Mary worked as a secretary for the CNR during the Second World War in Sarnia. She was raised as a Presbyterian before joining the Byron United Church, becoming a member of the Women’s Auxiliary. Mary spent most of her adult life raising her children as well as foster children including Stevie, Nelson and Brian. Mary rejoined the workforce in various retail establishments throughout London. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service honouring Mary will be held on Friday, April 20, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary’s memory may be made to the Children’s Aid Society of London & Middlesex, 1680 Oxford Street East, P.O. Box 7010, London ON, N5Y 5R8.
