Gulliver, Helen

Helen Bertha Gulliver of Blenheim passed away on Wednesday August 7, 2013.  Helen was born in Whitemouth MB 93 years ago, one of four children of the late Rev. Martin & Anna Voss.  She is survived by her brother Henry Voss of Calgary AB and her sister Bertha Neumann of Neepawa MB and is predeceased by her sister Marie Phoenix of Regina SK.    Being the daughter of a minister gave Helen the gift of faith.  Working as a nurse enabled Helen to share her gifts of caring and compassion.  While she was working as a VON nurse in Leamington, Ontario, Helen met and married Morris Earl Gulliver.  Although Morris passed away in 1979 at the young age of 58, he and Helen were able to share their values with their three daughters; JoAnne Gulliver of Toronto, Julie Schryer of Abbotsford, B.C. and Trish (Mark) English of Blenheim.  Over time their family grew to include grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Anne Gulliver, J.J. Schryer, Jonny Schryer, Jenny English, Linda Snobelen (Ryan) with children Colton and Summer, Sandy Vervaet (Denny) with daughter Hannah, and Daniel English.  Since Helen so highly valued family communications, she appreciated receiving letters from her family.  Friends and family are invited to gather at the Charing Cross United Church where Helen was proud to be a member, on Saturday August 10, 2013 from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. to show their support to the family.  A Funeral Service for Helen, officiated by Rev.
