GRAY: John James of Peterborough, formerly of Kingston, Walkerton and South Huron
GRAY, John James – Left us too soon, at the Ottawa Civic Hospital, on Sunday, August 3, 2014, following a brief illness in his 63rd year. Cherished son of Dorothy Gray of Ottawa and the late Ed Gray (2009). Beloved husband of Wendy Love. Proud father of Holly Gray of Ottawa and Christopher Gray of Peterborough. Dear brother of Stephen, William and Bonnie (Chris) all of Ottawa. Much loved by his many nieces and nephews. John will always be remembered for his devotion to family and friends, passion for cooking and “gift of the gab”. John’s career focused on serving others through his leadership in Community Living Associations in Kingston, Walkerton and South Huron. In 2001 he transitioned to long-term care, as the Administrator of Lakefield Extendicare. John will be remembered for his efforts towards the opening of the Morton Community Health Care Clinic, Lakefield. Since retiring in 2011, John enjoyed travel, volunteering, hunting, and dedicating his time to family. Friends will be received at the ASHBURNHAM FUNERAL HOME, 840 Armour Road, Peterborough, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Friday. A funeral service will be held at MARK STREET UNITED CHURCH, 90 Hunter Street East, Peterborough, on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. followed by cremation.
