Mr. John Oliver “Jack” Glendinning, a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Public General Campus, Chatham, at the age of 86 years.Jack was born in Port Huron, Michigan and was a son of the late William and Eva (Dibley) Glendinning.Beloved husband of the late Evelyn (Laing) Glendinning (2013).Loving father and father-in-law of Sue Teal-Glendinning, Jim (Vicki) Glendinning and Kathy (Joe) Kennedy. Dear grandfather of Chad (Maria), Kyle (Hayley) and great grandfather of Elena and Ellyott.Kind brother of Bill Glendinning, Nancy Griffith, Gaele (Gary) Mifflin and brother-in-law of Helen Thorner, Bill Laing and Bob (Pat) Laing.Predeceased by his sisters-in-law Pat Laing, Hazel Glendinning, Marg Reeke and his brothers-in-law Eldon Griffith and Bob Reeke.Before retiring, Jack was employed by the Lambton Kent District School Board. He was Principal at John McGregor Secondary School in Chatham as well as Wallaceburg District Secondary School. Jack also worked for St. Clair College, heading up the Skilled Trades Programs held at W.D.S.S. Jack enjoyed spending time with family and friends particularly his grandsons. He was proficient at carving and painting decoys as well as preparing delicious meals for all to enjoy.Arrangements entrusted to the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg. To honour Jack’s wishes, cremation will take place.
