Ray Gilbert Gilbert

It is with profound sadness that the family of (James) Ray Gilbert announces the passing of the finest gentleman in the world. A superb father, amazing Grandpa and outstanding friend and neighbour, born June 13, 1924, Ray passed from the arms of his loving family into glory in his 89th year on February 8, 2013. Predeceased by cherished wife Viola Margaret (Staddon), brothers George and Earl, sister-in-law Florence Gilbert, brothers-in-law George Warkentin, Bruce Stalker and Carl Staddon, sisters-in-law Hazel Stalker, Georgina Staddon. Survived by children John (Judy Trajano), Susan, Paul (Beth) Gilbert and Marie (Sam) VanderWyngaard; grandchildren Alison (Doug) Blair, Andrew (Ashley Cressman) and Hattie Gilbert, Alesha Beckett and Sarah Parker. Also survived by and will be most fondly remembered by Doug (Carley), Ali V, Sam (Ashley) V, Halyna (Dewayne), Alexia and Jaden K, along with Veronica Gilbert, Norm (Pam) Staddon, Doug (Dorothy) Staddon, Richard (Carol) Staddon, Rose Warkentin, many nieces, nephews, friends, neighbours, church family, and tennis friends. Special thanks to John and Ann Rex, Drs Hahn, Lenahan, Chin and Dougherty, nurses Jeremy, Julie and Nicole, staff of 7-300 oncology Victoria Hospital, London.
