GERLING, RonaldThe family announces with great sorrow his passing in Sudbury on Wednesday, August 6th, 2014 at the age of 71 years. Beloved husband of Marie-Berthe (née Roy) Gerling of Chelmsford. Cherished son of Lucienne (née Laurin) Gerling of Lively and of the late George Gerling. Loving father of Todd (Angela), Rodney and Deanna Farkas (John). Dear brother of Donald Gerling (Sharon). Sadly missed by his grandchildren Christine, Emily, Nathan, Owen, Tanner and Brandon. Ronald was one of the 5 men that built the frame for the Big Nickel, one of the founders of Chelmsford Minor Hockey Association and instrumental in the building of the Chelmsford Arena. He was also an avid fisherman and hunter. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Pioneer Manor and at Health Sciences North for their kind and compassionate care given to Ronald. As per his request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Donations (by cheque only) to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, Chelmsford.
