French, John E. “Jack” of Valleyview Home, St. Thomas and formerly of Toronto, passed away on Sunday, June 3rd, 2012, at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, at the age of 90. Beloved husband of June French. Predeceased by parents Thomas and Leah French. Left to mourn him are sons David (Irene), Glen and Thomas (Maria) and stepchildren Garry Slessor (Maureen) , Gloria Decaire (Len) and the late Roddy Slessor. Dear brother of Don (Evelyn) both deceased, sister Hazel Gray (deceased), sister Reta (deceased) leaving behind her husband Joe Bleitzhofer, brother Douglas (deceased) sister Shirley Sullivan (Patrick deceased) and brothers Kenneth (Florence), Thomas (Rose deceased) and late Ruby.  Also those who loved him and will  miss him dearly are many grandchildren, great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews. Jack was a longtime employee of CN Railways, Toronto. He was a proud veteran of World War II and an active member of his Legion.

Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas where funeral service will be held Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. Visitation at the funeral home from 12:00 to 1:00 on Tuesday.  A service of interment will take place in Toronto at Mount Pleasant Cemetery on Wednesday at 12:00 p.m.  Remembrances may be made to the charity of choice.
