In his 90th year, at Extendicare Cobourg, on Wednesday August 28, 2013. Beloved husband of the late Doris Frankowski (nee Bolton). A veteran of the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1943 – 1945, owned and operated the Pleasantview Camp on South Shores Rice Lake from 1954 – 1985, and a steam fitter with UA Local 463 at Darlington and Wesleyville for many years. During these years, Walter also made time for many adventures and became a man of many tales, which ranged from California to far north Canada. He had a great love for animals, taking in strays, some wild and some tame and is now joined with his old friend Furby. Walter was a man with an infectious smile, with a great sense of humour, who loved life to the fullest. “I have no regrets, I’ve had a good life.” – Walter Frankowski. He will be dearly missed by his nieces, nephews and extended family, especially his nephew Edward (Karen), his great nieces Kyla, and Kimberley (Terry) and his great-great-nieces Hannah, Addison and Evelyn. Walter is predeceased by his siblings John (the late Mary), Michael (the late Evelyn), Polly (the late Bill), Stanley, and Mary (the late Morris). Survived by his sister-in-law Bev. Cremation has taken place. Private family service will take place at a later date. Special thanks to Extendicare Cobourg and Northumberland Hills Hospital Restorative Care Unit for their kind and compassionate care to Walter.
