FORD, Mrs. M. Ilene (née Stafford), of Bobier Villa, Dutton, formerly of St. Thomas, passed away at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Thursday, August 10, 2017, in her 97th year.  Beloved wife and lifelong companion of the late Jack A. Ford (1999).  Loving mother of Donna Butcher (Robert), and Janice Hurst (Brad).  Cherished grandmother of Andrew Butcher, Amy Hurst, Beth Vandendriessche (Jon), and Nathan Hurst (Natalie).  She was proud of her great grandchildren, Joplynn and Taylor Hurst, and Emmitt Vandendriessche.  Dear sister of the late Iola Curran.  Dear aunt of David Curran, and Steve Curran (Claudette) and their son Shane.  Also survived by several other nephews.  Born in St. Thomas, July 26, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Elwin and Neta (née Watterworth) Stafford.  Ilene was a retired legal secretary.  During the Second World War, she worked at the No. 1 Technical Training School, St. Thomas.  She was a member of Central United Church, St. Thomas.  In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place.  There will be no public visitation.  A private memorial service will be held at the SIFTON FUNERAL HOME, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160), followed by the interment of her cremated remains  in Elmdale Memorial Park.  Memorial donations to the County of Elgin re: Bobier Villa Recreation Dept. or the Canadian Cancer Society will be gratefully acknowledged.
