FISHER; Irene Ida Elizabeth – With her family by her side on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at C.E.E. Hospital of Bluewater Health in Petrolia. Born in Plympton Township the daughter of Wilfred and Ruth Mason, IRENE FISHER, who was in her 82nd year, was predeceased by her husband of 59 years Bruce (2011). She is survived by her children, David (Paula), Ruth (John) Perkins, Peter (Linda), Mary (Phil) Garriock, Charles, and Joseph (Kumiko). She was “Granny” to nineteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Irene was the sister of the late Doug (Dorothy) Mason, Jim (Phyllis) Mason, Art (the late Marilyn) Mason, the late Dan (Gloria) Mason and the late Bob Mason. Irene devoted her life to raising her family and farming with her husband near Camlachie. She was a long time member of Rebekah Lodge, she belonged to Women’s Missionary Society, Ladies Aid, Aberarder Women’s Institute and was a 4H leader. Her apple pies were second only to the buns she made among all her other award winning baking. Visitors will be received on Friday October 18, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the WYOMING CHAPEL, 650 Broadway St., Wyoming where a funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Wyoming Cemetery.
