Finlay – Jean Thomson of St. Thomas ON, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 19th, 2012 at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, in her 81st year. Beloved wife of the late Robert Finlay (2005) and loved mother of Jean Thomson Shaw (Len) of Kilbride, Bob Finlay (Lynda) of St. Thomas and Scott Finlay (Corina) of Nanaimo, British Columbia. Special grandmother of Fiona (Dan), Heather (Steve), Andrew (Kelly), Bryan, Meghan (Caleb), Michelle, Tanis, Decklan, and Krista-Jean. Great-grandmother of Camden, Caiden, Caleigh, Callum, Brayden, Madison and Ryleigh. Dear sister of Walter Towart of Florida and Dinah Dalziel of Oakville. Jean was born in Glasgow, Scotland on February 10th, 1932, the daughter of the late Walter and Catherine. She worked for the Oakville Board of Education for many years. She was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church and a lifetime member of the Eastern Star.

Friends and family are invited to a celebration of Jean’s life at Knox Presbyterian Church, 55 Hincks St., St. Thomas ON on Thursday, June 21st at 11:00 am. Friends will be received at the church beginning at 10:00 am. Remembrances may be made to the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital Foundation.
