Elizabeth Jean Farquharson November 18 1929 – December 23 2016

Elizabeth passed away peacefully in the early hours of December 23rd; she is survived by her three children, George, Ian, Diane, six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

Born in the winter of 1929 in a small village of Aberdeenshire Scotland, Elizabeth began her life on a working farm in northern Scotland. Life was harsh, and Elizabeth developed a tenacious competitive spirit, and a stainless steel will power that would drive her for the rest of her life.

During the 1970’s when gender equality was merely an idea in many minds Elizabeth was walking the walk, and powering her way through the world of business with relentless vigor. Elizabeth’s strength of character pushed a Comox Valley farm stand selling corn by the dozen into a multi million dollar enterprise. Elizabeth was an active member of many Comox Valley community organizations, always outgoing, welcoming, and open to everyone. Regardless of what she was doing, at all times Elizabeth did it her way.

By her own request there will be no funeral. Memorial contributions in Elizabeth’s memory can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
