Stella Pauline Evans (nee Warden) passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 16, 2012, in Burlington, Ontario. Predeceased by her husband, John Evans, of Fredericton, New Brunswick. Always remembered by her two daughters, Cathie Weldon (Montreal) and Lesley Evans (Burlington), her sister, Kirsteen Warden of Atlanta, Georgia, son-in-law Barry, daughter-in-law, Annie , her two loving grandsons, Andrew and Jonathan, brother-in-law, George Evans and wife, Lorraine (Fredericton) and her eight nephews and nieces.
Raised in Vancouver, Stella studied classical piano prior to joining the Air Force and being transferred East. In Montreal, she met and married John and they raised their family in Fredericton. Throughout her life, Stella continued her passionate pursuit of learning, whether it be weaving, photography, philosophy or a new piece of music. Stella’s keen appreciation of art, beauty, nature and music were a part of her vibrant spirit and her grace. During her last eleven years at Lakeshore Place in Burlington, Stella enjoyed the many new friends she made, walks in the garden on the shore of Lake Ontario and many visits from family. Special thanks to all staff at Lakeshore Place, Oakville Trafalgar Hospital, Joseph Brant Hospital, CCAC Burlington and Acclaim Health and a special thanks to Dr. Reuven Jhirad.
A celebration of Stella’s life is planned for early January, 2013. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Stella’s name to The Royal Botanical Gardens in Burlington or to a charity of your choice.
