In her 73rd year, Ethel passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, May 15, 2012. Born in Bothwell, daughter of the late Norman Stanley and Edith (Robinson) Hirst. Beloved wife of the late Charles William “Bill” Bedell (1999). Survived by son William Bedell Jr. of Windsor; grandchildren Jean Marie Winter of Alymer, John Pavi of St. Thomas and Jeremy Pavi of London; brother Bill Hirst (Ann) of Windsor; sister Lois VanBraeckel (John) of Harrow; sister-in-law of Donna Mercer of Windsor; numerous nieces and nephews. Sadly missed by her adopted family Pam Leming (Eric), Danny Peterson (Pat), Sandi Haines (Bob), Rick Peterson (Julie), Penny Jones (Blaine) and their families. Remembered by her special friends Dianne Mardling and Doris West. Predeceased by daughter Mary Marie Winter (2006); son-in-law Don Winter; brother Larry Mercer (1994) and sister Georgina Mercer (1940). Ethel was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Ridgetown Branch 243 Ladies Auxiliary for 41 years. No visitation will be held. All are welcome to gather at the Bothwell Cemetery on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 2 p.m. for a graveside service. Celebration of Ethel’s life will follow at the Ridgetown Legion.
