ERAMIAN (Haskell)…….. Linda Grace (Haskell) Eramian died peacefully at the Palliative Care Unit of The London Health Sciences Centre (Victoria Campus) in London, Ontario on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 in her 65th year after a very difficult, lengthy battle with cancer. Beloved and devoted wife of Dr. Gregory Michael Eramian for 42 years. Loving mother of Dr. Mark Eramian and his wife Nicole of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and Dr. Laura Eramian and her husband, Dr. Peter Mallory of Halifax, Nova Scotia. Dear grandmother of Julia and Hannah of Saskatoon. Survived also by her brother, Dr. John D. Haskell, Jr. and his wife Mary of Williamsburg, Virginia, her sister-in-law Jeanette Eramian of Providence, Rhode Island, and her niece, Sarah Edgecombe of Charlotte, North Carolina. Linda was born on March 15, 1948 in Providence, R.I. She received her B.A. in English and French from Rhode Island College in 1969. Linda worked as a textile science laboratory assistant at Brescia College, London, Ontario from 1971 – 74. She was also employed by the Thames Valley District School Board as a library assistant at Mountsfield Public School (1991-99) and the former Oxford Park Public School (1995-99) She also volunteered in the library at Mountsfield for over 20 years, including several years after her retirement. Linda’s family was the centre of her life, and she will be remembered by them for her love of books and reading, walking, gardening, and singing along with her CDs while cooking and baking in her kitchen. She loved many types of music ranging from Baroque to the Beach Boys, Motown and Broadway. Linda was also known for her epic poems written for family and friends on the occasions of their milestone birthdays or retirements. Linda and Greg enjoyed travelling with their family and watching Mark and Laura enjoy the beach in Rhode Island or a resort in Ontario. Her children and granddaughters brought great joy to her life. When Greg and Linda became empty nesters, they loved nothing more than viewing spectacular scenery, whether Yosemite National Park, Hawaii’s verdant cliffs by helicopter, Outer Banks beaches, the Golden Gate Bridge, the magnificent Canadian Rockies or Alaskan glaciers. They marvelled at all these things together and never tired of each other’s company. It was also Linda’s great pleasure to hold dinner parties for friends. Her guests seemed to look forward in particular to her desserts. Linda may have been quiet and shy in groups, but many friends and strangers alike remarked upon her warm, sunny smile and good nature, especially throughout her many health problems. She always remained optimistic, hopeful, and courageous. She will be profoundly missed by her family and all who knew her. Linda was grateful to be in the care of her compassionate and knowledgeable physicians, including Dr. Deborah Josephson (UWO Staff/Faculty Clinic), Dr. Diane Logan (LRCP), Dr. Ward Davies (LHSC University Campus, Dr. Chris Bailey (LHSC Victoria Campus), Dr. Alex Hammond (LRCP), Dr. Shiraz Malik (LHSC Victoria Campus) as well as Nancy Fulton, R.N. (LRCP). Her family will never forget their professionalism, support and kindness. At Linda’s request there will be no funeral service. Visitation will be at the A.
