DURNAN, ARTHUR (REV.) – Pastor, Evangelist, Ardent soul-winner…valiant for the Evangelical Christian Faith: loving & faithful husband, Godly father, vessel unto honour. Suddenly on February 18, 2015 at 10am, the Lord Jesus Christ called Arthur Durnan to his heavenly home (John 14:1-6) peacefully and with much joy. His ambassadorship to the world’s lost sheep completed (Matthew 28:18-20), he was promoted to Glory to be with His Saviour, Jesus Christ, who died as his sinless Substitute on Calvary’s cruel tree & Whom he loved so dearly. For all who trust Christ, it is never “Good-by,” but only “Good Night, I’ll see you in the Morning!” He will be reunited with his late mother and father (Arthur & Jessie Durnan), and his two sisters (Gwen Findlay & Kathleen Dawson) in heaven.
For more than 50 years, he had preached the Precious Blood, the Infallible Book & the Blessed Hope throughout North America, most of the West Indies and in Israel & the Middle East on many occasions. The legacy of his life & ministries will long continue to enrich those who came under his spiritual influence.
Arthur Durnan was the founding Pastor of Hastings Park Bible Church where he served for almost 8 years. After one of his “Days of Decision” Crusades in Bermuda, he accepted the invitation to pastor Calvary Church there & ministered faithfully for almost 6 years. Later, he accepted a call as founding Pastor-Teacher of Cornerstone Church in Belleville where he remained for over 20 years. Subsequently he transitioned back to his first love, Hastings Park Bible Church “Until the Day God Called Him Home”.
Prayer is requested for his precious wife, Diane and their two daughters Dale-Ann Woznyj and Dawn-Ava and Andrew Dagys and his 5 wonderful grandchildren – Karl & Juliana Woznyj and Brendan, Megan and Jordan Dagys – all precious to their grandfather – who look forward with keen and prayerful anticipation to meeting him again around the Throne of God in the soon-coming Rapture of the Christian Church (1 Corinthians 15:51, 52 & 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18). Oh, what a thrilling “Meeting-in-the-Skies: THAT will be! Reunion in Christ’s very Presence is assured, when we are “released from pain and suffering…when God will give us our full rights as His children, including the new bodies He has promised us? (Romans 8:23).
Come, join us all through saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ never to part as outlined in John 3:1-7; 1 Thessalonians 4:17b. Heaven will be a marvelous place! Read Revelation Chapters 21 & 22, the world’s best description of God’s Heaven.
And when Jesus comes in bright array, To lead the Conquering Line: It will be Glory then to say, That He’s a Friend of mine!” Indeed, “Death is swallowed up in VICTORY!” (1 Corinthians 15:54). Yes, there’s room at the Cross for YOU too!
The joyful Coronation Service to be held and officiated by Pastor Harley York on Tuesday February 24, 2015 at 1pm. Visitation preceding on Monday February 23, 2015 between 2-4pm and 7-9pm all at Hastings Park Church on 36 Harder Drive, Belleville. Interment at Belleville Cemetery.
If desired, Memorial Donations to Village Missions Canada would be appreciated by the family.
