Born in New Zealand on October 10, 1928, she married Gordon and emigrated to Canada with their three children, and passed peacefully at Boca Raton Hospice by the Sea February 21, 2018. Judith is survived by her children Stewart, Andrée (Sandy), and David (Dolores) and her grandchildren Danielle, Evan and Cameron.
She had a passion for travel and adventure, travelling to England by ship just after graduating nursing school and again for her honeymoon, this time by airplane. She always considered travel to be a great education and the family benefited from that education. When her eldest, Stewart, graduated she supported him in establishing his boat importing business, an adventure shared by the whole family. To celebrate Andrée’s graduation from university, mother and daughter went off to England for a mini version of Mom’s grand adventure. In her early years Judith spent many hours riding her horse, Scythian, competing in steeplechases, hunts and even riding Scythian down to the beach for an afternoon swim; a love of horses that she passed on to David. Judith enjoyed a long and rewarding career as a Nurse, both in New Zealand and Canada. In retirement, she and Gordon would lead trips abroad, sharing their love of travel. She was one of the founders of the Mississauga Chapter of Probus and remained active with them until 2011.
