With saddened hearts, the family of Stanley Dolar announces his sudden passing at the age of 75 on Thursday, September 19, 2013.

He will be deeply missed by his wife Frances, daughter Sonia (Victor) Baillargeon and son Robert (Janice). Stan was a role model and loving “ata” to his four grandchildren Derek, Valerie, Monique and Samuel. Survived by his sister Kathy (Stan) Tamse, his brother Tony Dolar, sister-in-law Mary Tamse, as well as many nieces and nephews in Slovenia and Canada. Predeceased by his parents Leopold and Maria, his brothers Joze and Ludvik, and his sister Maria.

Born in Slovenia, Stan moved to Canada in 1958. He was a member of Sheet Metal Local 539 for his entire career and enjoyed tending to his farm into his retirement. His talent as a journeyman will live on, evidenced by the decorative metal work he did in the Sarnia area. Stan was an active member of the Slovenian Social Club – Triglav, London, ON.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, September 22, 2013, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia.  A private family service will be held. Cremation will follow.  In lieu of flowers, sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Sarnia & District Humane Society (cheques only at the funeral home please).  smithfuneralhome.ca
