DOBSON, Philip – August 10, 1936 – July 23, 2013.  Philip Francis Owen Dobson, age 76, passed peacefully at home in London, Ontario with his family by his side. Survived and lovingly remembered by his beloved wife Janet of 55 years and sons Paul, Andrew (Kathryn) and Steven (late Laurie), brothers and sister George, Bryan and Betty (all of Canterbury, England), sister-in-law Cherry (Australia) and Colin (Sue) of Canterbury, England and many nieces and nephews and grandchildren, Daniel, Benjamin, Rebecca, Samantha, Frances, Charles, Oliver, Maelle, Colin and Henry. Predeceased by parents Bill and Ada (nee Feakins), brother Bill and sister Eileen, brother-in-law Roger (Australia) and daughter-in-law Laurie (nee Brown). Phil was born in Canterbury, England and immigrated to Canada with wife Janet and family in 1966. Phil led an adventurous life having served in the British and Canadian Armies, the Kent Constabulary (England) and London (Canada) Police Service followed by a lengthy career as Professor of Estate Law at Fanshawe College, London. Philip and Janet enjoyed many years aboard their yacht “Pippin” as well as countless transatlantic and Mediterranean cruises. Friends will be received at the SMITH-LeROY FUNERAL HOME, 69 Wellington Street North, Woodstock on Saturday, July 27, 2013 from 9:00 to 11:00 am followed by a memorial service in the chapel at 11:00 am with Rev. Dr. Stephen Hendry officiating, and interment at Hillview Cemetery, Fifth Avenue, Woodstock.  If desired, memorial donations may be made to the charity closest to your heart.
