Peacefully on March 12 in his 90th year, at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital. Beloved husband of Ruth for 70 years. Richard leaves behind his loving children Raymond (Joanne), Derek (Kathy), Elaine (Blair), grandsons Stephen (Carolyn), Adam (Allison), Christopher and Andrew. He will be missed by great-grandchildren Noah, Sophie, Coen and Cameron. Richard emigrated from Edinburgh, Scotland in 1956, to make a better life for his family. He leaves his brother Phillip (in Scotland), and nieces and nephews in Scotland, England and the U.S. He was a long standing member of the choir at Wentworth Baptist Church and an active participant in the Geritol Follies for 16 years. He also loved singing for the residents at his home in the Village Manor. Many thanks to the staff at Village Manor for their love and support during this difficult time. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME, 146 Mill St. N., Waterdown on Friday from 11-12 p.m. Memorial Service in the Chapel at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Heart & Stoke Foundation or The Ontario War Amps.
