Di PIETRO Assunta (nee Pasquale)

A Mother’s Gift

A love that remains as constant                 As the stars in the heaven above                 A gift no money on earth can buy                     The gift of a mother’s love.

With deep sorrow and heavy hearts, we announce our Mamma Assunta’s passing into eternal life on September 30, 2012. She was escorted into heaven by her loving husband, our “Papa”, Antonio, (December 1986), who she missed very much. Reunited in Heaven with her parents, Domenico and Agata Pasquale and parents-in-law, Francesco and Lucia Di Pietro. Mamma was adoring, loving and caring to her children, Franco and Filomena Di Pietro; Gianni (Cathy) Di Pietro, and Maria and Vincenzo Di Stefano. Dear mother-in-law of the late Catherine Di Pietro. Nonna Assunta leaves behind her grandchildren who adored her and who she loved very much, Antonio (Dawn), John (Roseanne), Giulio ( Josephine), Sandra (Rob), Franco, Franca (Mike), Assunta (Tony), Erica, Alexa, Sonia (Bekim), Joey (Crystal), and Michel (Christina). She leaves behind her numerous great-grandchildren who always brought a smile to her face. Dear sister to the late Bambina Forgione (Italy). Assunta will be missed deeply by her loving and caring sister-in-law Francesca Di Pietro, Maria and Donato Di Pietro, and Cesare and Elena Di Pietro (Toronto). Dear sister-in-law to the late Sebastiano Di Pietro, Vittorio and Inesia Di Pietro, Anna and Eugenio Pocobene, Carmelo Di Pietro and Nazzareno Di Pietro.  Mamma will be missed by her baby “Gino” who brought her many years of companionship and happiness. Dear Zia Assunta to many caring and loving nieces and nephews in Canada and in Italy. We cannot forget the love and compassion shown by the Lee family, and especially her loving Phong, who she simply loved as a grandchild. Thank-You to all of the wonderful Doctors and Nurses who took care of our Mamma at Windsor Regional Hospital-Met Campus. Thank-You as well to Dr. W. Liang for his loving and compassionate ways towards our mother. A special Thank-You to Monica Staley and to Maria Kopcok for all of the love and help given to our dear Mamma. Assunta will be missed by her numerous friends and neighbours who would always ask how she was doing, would call, or just drop by her house to see if there was  anything that she needed. The abundance of love and support shown to us by all of our family and friends during this very difficult time, will never be forgotten. Our Mamma Assunta was a loving and nurturing mother, who until the end of her life,  loved and cared for her family. Mamma Assunta passed away with dignity,  and was surrounded by the love of her family.
