DESLAURIERS, Réjean C. “Reg”, of St. Thomas, passed away at LHSC, Victoria Hospital on Monday, January 9, 2017, in his 60th year. Beloved husband of Wilma (nee Lister) Deslauriers. Dearly loved father of Chantal and Céline Deslauriers, both of St. Thomas. Reg was helping his wife Wilma raise their cherished grandchildren, Kyle and Amber Lister. He was predeceased by his step-son Winston Lister (2014) and by his step-daughter-in-law, Danielle Kowalenko (2009). Born in Kapuskasing, ON, May 16, 1957, he was the son of the late Pierre-Rodolphe and Bernadette (nee Drouin) Deslauriers. After nearly 8 years of keeping his Multiple Myeloma under control, he succumbed to the rare Progressive Multifocal Leukoencephalopathy (PML) within 3 months. Reg was a skilled person with many professions including fighting forest fires in Northern Ontario, and working as an accomplished internationally licensed millwright at Tomato Co-op, Spruce Falls Mill, Cuddy Farms and GKN Sinter Metals. He was an avid Montreal Canadiens fan and also enjoyed woodworking, gardening and restoring Jeeps. Reg was adored by his many pets throughout the years. The funeral service will be held at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas(519-631-1160) on Monday, January 16th, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. Interment in Elmdale Memorial Park. Relatives and friends will be received by the family on Sunday evening, January 15th from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Myeloma Canada or an animal charity of your choice.
