Beulah DempseyDEMPSEY, Mrs. Beulah (nee Hartford), of St. Thomas, passed away at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Sunday, November 10, 2013, in her 88th year.  Wife of the late Robert Austin Dempsey and beloved mother of the late Maureen Dempsey.  Cherished grandmother of Sherri Steip (Peter) and Cody, Lisa Zellas (Mike) and Mackenzie, Chloe, Dustin, Brett, and Tyler, and Melissa Noble (Stuart) and Tori, Hailey, Spencer, and Gabrielle.  She was the dear partner for over 30 years to the late Scotty Darlington and his 5 children; Cindy (Ken), George (Melissa), Fred (Sara), John (Annie), and Susan (Steven), and their families.  Loving sister of Byron Hartford (Helen), Orland Hartford (late Shirley), Wayne Hartford (Lillian), Marenah Michener (Mervin), and Leona Rozell (Robert).  Born in Harwich Township, November 21, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Evangeline (nee Owen) Hartford.  Beulah formerly owned and operated Dempsey Jewelry Ltd., Port Stanley and the Port Stanley Marina.  She was a member of Christ Church (Anglican) Port Stanley, Last Post Branch #410, Royal Canadian Legion, Port Stanley, and Golden Acres Chapter #305, O.E.S., Shedden.  In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place.  A service to celebrate Beulah’s life will be held at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160) on Thursday, November 14th at 10:00 a.m.  Relatives and friends will be received by the family on Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m.  Private interment in Christ Churchyard (Anglican), Port Stanley at a later date. Memorial donations to the charity of one’s choice gratefully acknowledged.
