It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Joanne Ruth DeHoey (nee Forrest) of Sarnia. Predeceased by her parents Charles and Marjorie Forrest, and her lifelong friend Marjorie Thompson. Joanne leaves behind her beloved husband of 53 years, Jim and their three children Jim (Candace), Susan (Scott) and Stacey (Bill), as well as grandchildren Daniel, Jeremy, Alexandra, Sydney and Melanie. She is also survived by her brother Jack Forrest (Joanne). A devoted wife and mother, Joanne loved nothing more than big family gatherings where all present were lavished with affection and gastronomic delights. Her culinary talents were legendary, whether it be a Canadian Christmas dinner with all the fixings or just-caught fresh fish while vacationing in the Florida Keys, finished off with a Key Lime Pie. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Dr. Maddison and the rest of the Palliative Care team at Bluewater Health in Sarnia, for the outstanding care and compassion provided to Joanne. Family and friends are invited to a graveside service at the Bayfield Cemetery (Mill Rd., Bayfield) on Monday, August 20, 2012, at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Love officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family and Joanne’s two beloved Yorkies, would greatly appreciate donations to the Sarnia & District Humane Society, 131 Exmouth St., Sarnia N7T 7W8, or the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements entrusted to SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia.
