Cross, W. 0002 (WinCE)CROSS, Warren. A resident of Chatham, formerly of Wallaceburg, Tucson Arizona, and Huntington Beach California, passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Hotel-Dieu Grace Hospital, Windsor at the age of 65. Born in Chatham, son of the late Francis & Agnes Cross. Warren married his best friend Loel Cross (nee Smith) on June 7, 1969. Cherished father to Janet & Chris Couvillon of Chatham, Sara & Greg Shore of London, Lorren & Kim Cross of Huntsville. Forever missed by his grandchildren Brett & Rachael Couvillon. Brother to Wayne Cross of Tilbury, and brother-in-law to Judy & Jerry Holland of Parry Sound, Craig & Wanda Smith of Bracebridge. Uncle to Jennifer, Jeff, Wayne Jr., Ryan, Scott, Devon, Jeremy, Codie, and five great nephews. Warren was a supervisor at Navistar for 13 years before his retirement in 2009. He owned and operated Warren Cross Auto Clinic for 22 years, and was a member of Victoria Ave United Church. He was an avid bowler, a member of the Canadian Ten Pin Bowling, the United States Bowling Congress, Kent County Street Rods, coached and directed the Ten Pin Youth Bowling Club, and enjoyed golf, squash, and racquet ball. Warren’s pride and joy beyond his daughters and son was his 1956 Chevy Sedan, which he drove to Chatham from California in 1968. Family to receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Sunday from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will take place at the Funeral Home on Monday, February 4, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. James Brown officiating. Donations in memory of Warren Cross to the Victoria Ave United Church-Friendship Meals Program would be appreciated by the family.
