CROCKFORD - photo croppedPeacefully on April 26, 2013 at 11:30 p.m. at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket, Dennis Crockford passed away 9 days before his 90th birthday.  Beloved husband of Florence Dorothy Crockford (nee Campbell), who continues to live in Aurora, ON. Loving father of Carolyn Diane Dewulf and the late Gregory Creighton Crockford. Cherished grandfather of Christine, David and Shaun Dewulf; and Daniel, Chester, and Chelsea Crockford. Great Grandfather to Avery and Austin Maile; and Alexis and Lia Dewulf. Survived by nieces Mary and Jeanette and nephew Godfrey in England. Brother-in-law to Bruce, Evelyn and Rebecca Campbell and other relatives. Predeceased by sisters Doreen Bristow and Ada Ashley.
Dennis served in the RAF and was a member of the Air Force Association in Bomber Command in Sarnia. Dennis was the President and founder of the Sarnia Historical Museum with the help of many friends in Sarnia. Every Remembrance Day, Dennis was a presenter at all the High Schools in Sarnia for which he received commendation.
The family will be receiving friends from 1:00 to 2:00p.m. on Sunday, May 5, 2013, with a celebration of life to follow at 2:00 p.m. at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, to honor Dennis on his birthday. Cremation has taken place. Interment will take place on Monday, May 6, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. at Blackwell Cemetery, 1835 Blackwell Rd., Sarnia.  In lieu of flowers, sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Sarnia and District Humane Society (cheques only at the funeral home please).
