margaret crandall 002RebekahCRANDALL, Mrs. Margaret (nee Kubu) of St. Thomas, formerly of R.R.#1, Sparta, passed away at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Saturday, February 9, 2013, in her 81st year.  Wife of the late Milton E. Crandall (2002).  Mother of Michele Monteith, Michael Crandall (Verda), all of St. Thomas, Mary Anne Sikora (Tony) of Chatham, Milton “Joe” Crandall (Beth) of London, Maureen Ashford (Barry) of Mount Salem, and the late John Crandall.  Sister of Irene Nichols of St. Thomas, Edward Kubu (Mae) of Winona, late Helen Pickard, late Dorothy Green, and the late F. M. “Bud” Kubu.  A number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.  Predeceased by a grandson, Rick Ashford.  Born in St. Thomas, September 18, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Maud (nee Burke) Kubu.  Margaret was a former employee of Essex Wire, St. Thomas, and Winter Wheat, Sparta.  She formerly attended Sparta United Church.  Margaret was a Past Noble Grand of Edna Rebekah Lodge #14, St. Thomas, and a member of the Red Hat Society.  Relatives and friends will be received by the family on Wednesday, February 13th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160) where the funeral service will be held Thursday, February 14th at 1:30 p.m.  Interment in Elmdale Memorial Park.  Memorial donations to Pets/Friends for Life gratefully acknowledged.  A memorial service under the auspices of Edna Rebekah Lodge #14, St. Thomas will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday evening at 6:45 p.m.
