Daniel “Danny” Craig, of Hanover, passed away surrounded by his family at Guelph General Hospital, on Friday, June 27, 2014.
He was 64.
Born in Walkerton on November 15, 1949 to Irvin “Dutch” and Gay (nee O’Bright) Craig. Danny was an Insurance Brokerand President of Craig, McDonald, Reddon Insurance Brokers Ltd. Always a hard worker with a smile on his face, he was an inspiration to many in Hanover. Giving back to our community and helping others was important to Danny. As the President of the Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario and President of the Insurance Brokers Association of Canada, his ethics and standards will be greatly missed as many will remember him conducting himself with dignity and grace.
Survived by his wife and best friend, Melanie Ann (nee Murray) Craig, Ryan (Chrissy) Craig of Walkerton, Michael Craig (Amanda McLauchlin) of Toronto, grandchildren Jack Daniel Craig and Hannah Marie Eloise Craig. Fondly remembered by his sister Earla (Al) Clark of Hanover, sister-in-law Suzanne (Dennis) Paradis of Newmarket. Predeceased by his parents Irvin “Dutch” and Gay (nee O’Bright) Craig and parents-in-law Dr. John A. and Ethel Murray, and by special aunts and uncles Iva (Grant) Yeoman, Una (Andy) Baston and Joy (Don) Campbell.
Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 from 7-9 pm, and Wednesday from2-4 and 7-9 pm.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 03, 2014 at 11:00 am, at St. Matthew’s Ev. Lutheran Church. Rev. Jawn Kolohon officiating. Interment in Walkerton Cemetery
Memorial donations to the Grey Bruce Animal Shelter, Parkinson Foundation or to the Cancer Society were appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
