George CouseCOUSE, George R., of St. Thomas, passed away at the Valleyview Home on Wednesday, December 24, 2014, in his 78th year. Beloved husband and best friend for over 52 years to Elaine (nee Schaus) Couse. Cherished father of Ruth Couse, and Carolyn Boch (Brian), all of London. Loved uncle of Larry Barber (Sharon) and their family of Watford. Also remembered by Barbara Keating of St. Thomas. His in-laws, Betty and Bill Barber, and a nephew, Terry Alliett predeceased him. Born in Hamilton, ON, March 20, 1937, he was the son of the late Finlay and Madeline (nee Gillard) Couse. George was employed for 45 years on the Chessie System Railroad. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, St. Thomas. George loved his family, and enjoyed traveling, classic cars and railway nostalgia. Relatives and friends will be received by the family on Monday, December 29th from 2-5 p.m. at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160) where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 30th at 1:30 p.m. Interment to follow in the St. Thomas Cemetery, West Avenue. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society gratefully acknowledged.
