 Corrigan Gary

Gary passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, December 14,2014, in the loving care of his family. Cherished husband of Maureen, and incredibly proud father of Kevin and Sharleen.    His family meant everything to him and over the years he welcomed his daughter in law Judith St. Pierre, and his son in law Bill Blois into the fold.  The arrival of his five adored grandchildren, Emily and Graeme Corrigan, and Erin, Rowan and Daniel Blois brought him tremendous joy. Gary’s parents, Arthur and Joan (Sharpe) Corrigan, predeceased him.  He is survived by his only brother Robert (David Roop).  He is also survived by his brother in law and sister in law, Richard and Martha Killoran, his two nephews, Michael and Christopher, and their families. Gary maintained his strength and dignity over the last few years in his battle with Multiple System Atrophy. Paralyzed and robbed of his ability to speak, he found ways to communicate with his eyes, and let those that he cared about know how much he loved them.  How those eyes could laugh!  His spirit was never broken.  He was blessed to have his caregivers, Sergette, Mario and Donna, and a circle of incredible friends who were always there for him.Gary remained at home throughout his illness until sudden complications resulted in hospitalization.  When the end was near, we were able to bring him home and surround him with love. Heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful nursing staff at the General 7 West and Drs.Daniel Smith and Adrienne Junek who moved mountains to allow us to bring him home, as well as to our family physician, Dr. Edward Seale, who provided Gary with wonderful care and support at home over the years and was here for us at the end. The family will receive relatives and friends at Heritage Funeral Home, 2871 St-Joseph Blvd., Orléans, on Sunday, December 21st, 2014, from 1 – 4 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations to Red Cross Canada or to the CNIB would be appreciated.  Condolences and donations may be made at:
