Peacefully at Bluewater Health, on Sunday, August 18, 2013 Joan Jeanette Cooper (nee Angelski) passed away at the age of 69. Loving and devoted mother to Sonya Cooper. Dear and cherished sister of Patricia (the late Ken) Quinton, Debbie Bright, Agnes Barette (Len), and Ed Angelski. Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Edward Leo and Anne Angelski (nee Genovy), sister Joyce Scimmi and brother Joe Angelski. Joan was loved by her family and friends and she always put everyone else ahead of her own needs. She was most proud of her greatest love, her only child, Sonya, and lived everyday for her. Joan was a brave, strong woman, as she had been fighting health issues for many years, but always managed to keep a smile on her face and in her heart. Joan sold Avon for over ten years, in which time she made some great friends, and loved the social aspect of the job. She was a kind and generous woman, with a fun loving spirit and will be dearly missed by anyone who knew her. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, at 11:00 a.m. with an hour of visitation prior to the service. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice or Sarnia and District Humane Society (cheques only at the funeral home please).
