COOPER; Harry of Petrolia

Passed away suddenly at his home in Petrolia on Wednesday, June 14, 2017.   HARRY JUNIOR COOPER, was in his 82nd year.   Harry will be missed by his loving wife of 53 years; Barbara (nee Baines), his daughter Beth, and his son Albert.    Harry is also survived by his brothers Fred (Rose) Cooper and Tom (Pat) Cooper both of Sarnia.   He was predeceased by his parents Harry and Betty Cooper and a brother Jackie Cooper.   He will also be missed by brothers-in-law Albert and Robert Baines and several nieces and nephews.    Harry was a 60 year member of Liberty Lodge #419 A.F. & A.M., and several other lodges across Canada. Harry was the William Mercer Wilson Medal recipient in 2007, an award his father also received in 1972, the only father and son to both receive this award in Ontario.    Harry retired in 1990 after 36 years at Polysar, and later spent over 20 years as a machinist at Baines Machine Shop in Petrolia.  He was also a retired volunteer with Petrolia & North Enniskillen Fire Department.  Visitors will be received on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the Needham-Jay Funeral Home, Petrolia.  Liberty will conduct a memorial service at 6:30 pm.   A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 19, 2017 at 11:00 am from the Needham-Jay Funeral Home, Petrolia.
