COOKE, Andrew “Murray” – (April 9, 1934-September 14, 2013)
With grieving hearts the family of Murray Cooke announce his passing. Murray leaves behind his wife of 47 years Joyce, and his sons, Stephen (Sue) and Jeffrey (Sue), his grandchildren Amanda, Carson, Matthew, Cooper, Bishop, Michael and Miranda will all miss Grandpa, who has taken on a new job now, as guardian angel to his great-granddaughter Kailyn. Also feeling Murray’s absence are brothers Bruce (Penny) and Cecil (Betty), sister Christine, nephew Andy (Laurie) and nieces Leslie Ann (Joe), Marie (Glenn), Mary (Blair), Annette and Rhonda (Scott). Great-nieces and nephews Tia, Alex, Andrew, Tiffany, Amy, Tyler, Jennifer, Eric and Caylin will also miss Uncle Murray. Murray was predeceased by his brother Bill and sister Hazel. Murray retired from Fleet Industries in Fort Erie in 1997 after 31 years of service. He enjoyed every minute of his retirement to the fullest, spending the winters in Florida (with newfound friends near and far) and the summers working in his gardens. He made many friends on his daily walks wherever he was, and will be sorely missed, especially by his good friend Bart.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be at MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME 5917 Main Street, Niagara Falls, on Friday October 25th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. His funeral service will take place Saturday October 26th at St. John’s Anglican Church, 3428 Portage Road, Niagara Falls at 1 o’clock. Inurnment is to follow at the adjoining Stamford Columbarium. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the ALS Society of Canada.
