COLLINS, Mrs. Dorothy (née Curtis), of St. Thomas, passed away at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Tuesday, April 4, 2017, in her 87th year.  Wife of the late Donald E. Collins (1999).  Mother of Charles Collins (Marg), Linda Martin (Larry), all of St. Thomas, and Donna Carswell (Rick) of Tillsonburg.  Grandmother of Shawn Collins (Sarah), Sandra Collins, Carrie Houle (Bruce), Bradley Martin (Amy), Amanda Carswell, and Adam Carswell (Nancy).  Great grandmother of Andre, Cameron, Athena, Walter, and Logan.  Also fondly remembered by sister-in-law, Marion Collins, brother-in-law, Roy Martin and several nieces and nephews.  Dorothy was the last surviving member of her own immediate family, having been predeceased by a sister, Nancy Martin, and four brothers, Harold, Gord, Harvey, and George Curtis.  Born in St. Thomas, November 28, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (née Nichol) Curtis.  Dorothy was a retired employee of Therm-O-Disc Ltd., St. Thomas, and a former active volunteer with the Friends of Springwater.  The funeral service will be held at the SIFTON FUNERAL HOME, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160) on Friday, April 7th at 2:00 p.m., followed by interment in Union Cemetery.  Public visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.  Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario will be gratefully acknowledged.
