Collins, Geraldine Margaret – peacefully at the Belmont Long Term Care Facility on Saturday, December 28, 2013 in her 92nd year.  Daughter of the late Arthur and Ellen Soaft.  Beloved wife of the late Michael Collins.  Loving mother of Michael of Belleville, Patrick (Vanessa) of Gravenhurst and Dan (Corinne) of Belleville.  Cherished grandmother of Margaret, Joseph, Catherine, Mary, Patrick, Danielle, Sebastian, Seamus and Breanna.  Dear sister of Rose Travers of Kingston and Bonnie Button of Belleville.  Geraldine is predeceased by her sister, Helen O’Connor and her brothers, Robert and Douglas Soaft.  She is fondly remembered by several nieces, nephews and extended family. Before marriage, Geraldine worked as a secretary at the Kingston General Hospital, in a local law firm, and for a time taught secretarial skills at Loyalist College. She was a life-long member of the Catholic Women’s League and for many years contributed to the larger community as a volunteer with meals-on-wheels. She was devoted to her family and is lovingly remembered by her sons.

The family will receive friends at the Steele Funeral Home, Moira Street Chapel, 30 Moira Street West (613-968-2273) on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of St. Michael the Archangel on Friday, January 3, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. James Cemetery.
