HARDY, RALPH – It is with profound sorrow and sadness, the family of Ralph Lynnsay Hardy, age 83, announces his passing at St. Joseph’s Hospice on Sunday, June, 18, 2017. He was best friend and partner for over 65 years with Daintry Adele McPhedran and loving father of Bruce Lynn Hardy (Georgina), Lonnie Lee Ostroski (Jack) and Scott Lyndsay Hardy (Annie), dear grandfather of Diego, Lindsey, Brent, Kendra, Kerri, Nicolas and Patrick, dear great-grand of Matias, Quinton, Isadora, Rowan, Shealon, Monroe, Mirren, Kennedy, Reese, Connor, Chloe and brother of Doris LeNeve (Jim) and Penny Viselka. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Thomas, Bruce, Bud (Allan) and his sister Mary Tobin. Ralph served with the 3rd Royal Canadian Horse Artillery for over 25 years and was a teacher at the School of Artillery. After retiring from the military he worked at Polysar as their Chief of Security for 13 years. Friends may visit with the family at the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (102 N. Victoria St., Sarnia) on Wednesday, June 21st, 2017 between the hours of 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral and committal services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, June 22nd, 2017 at 1:00 pm. It is sad to announce the passing of Deric Quemby at his home on Sunday June 18, 2017 surrounded by love and family. COWIN, Gordon Douglas CPA, CMA – passed peacefully after a brief illness at Northumberland Hills Hospital, Cobourg.  Gord coached, was active in, and a fan of, most team sports.  He was a musician in the Cobourg Kilties Band for twenty five years along with his dad and two brothers.  His working career included Accounting at Borg Warner Cobourg, Canadian Ordnance Depot, PSW for home care in Peterborough and after retirement, volunteering for The Brain injury Group and hospital driving for in-home patients.  Father of Jayne (Greg) Robertson and Susan Cowin, both of Ottawa.  Brother of the late William (Claudette) and Ronald.  Grandfather of Joshua and Haylee Robertson and Gwenaeth Wells.  He will be missed by his nieces Dana (Drew) Bently and Andrea Hendry, nephews Lloyd (Doreen), Marc (Sarah) and Bruce Cowin.  A private celebration of Gord’s life will be held.  Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.  Condolences received at www.MacCoubrey.com.

Peacefully at home in Cobourg on June 3, 2017. Survived by her husband William (Bill) MacKenzie, her sister Shirley Cooke, her children Dr. Kathryn Douglas (Barry Hodgson), Sheila Boyd, Steven Douglas and Diane Babyn and her grandchildren Matthew Hodgson, Ben Hodgson, Dr. Allison Boyd, Jason Douglas, Ryan Douglas, Emily Kinnear (Mike), Kimberley Babyn, and Andrew Babyn.

Predeceased by her parents Ralph Smith and Hazel McKay (nee Wagar), her brother Jack Smith and her first husband Harold Douglas.

Betty was born in Kingston, Ontario. She obtained her teaching certification from McGill University (McDonald College campus) and very much enjoyed teaching at Edgewater School in Pincourt, Quebec for a number years.  After a move to Ontario in the early 70s, she attended the University of Toronto (Mississauga campus) where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts. Subsequently, she worked at U of T in research, testing infant hearing.

Throughout her life, Betty demonstrated an amazing ability to overcome life challenges and she was an inspiration to many.

A Funeral Service will be held at St. Peter’s Church (corner of King St. E and College St. in Cobourg) on Saturday, June 24th at 2pm. Interment to follow at the Heritage Cemetery of St. Peter.

The family would like to express their appreciation for the many years of compassionate support and assistance provided to both Betty and Bill by Jean Lambert, Nancy MacDonald and Heather Allison as well as the staff from St. Elizabeth Health Care. It is sad to announce the passing of Maggie Jibb.  April 30th 1957 – June 10th 2017. Survived by her partner of 14 years, Malcom Thomas; Two sons Michael and Christopher DiDomizio (Andrea); Daughter of Helen and the late Cecil (Joan).  Brother Ralph (Wendy), sister Cynthia Crowley (John), and brother, late Leslie. Grandmother to Aubrey May DiDomizio.  Mother to two cats, Marmalade and Marigold. Maggie enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was always willing to help others. Well educated not only in law, but in many other aspects of life.  She loved to help the community out by volunteering.  She was a master at coupon collecting and finding the best deals.  She enjoyed car trips, travelling to new places, eating new kinds of food and reading.  She was always smiling and staying positive. Eleni, dearly beloved wife of Courteney, passed away at Northumberland Hills Hospital, on Thursday May 25, 2017. Eleni was born in Montreal on March 17, 1947 to Andy and Poppie Anton. She will be fondly remembered by her brothers, Jim (Wendy) and Dean (Janet); her brother-in-law Stuart and nephews and nieces, Michael, Nicola, Jennifer, Helen, Jason and Rodney, cousins Nikki, Dean, Betty and Tassie and Aunt Athena Notar. She was great-aunt to Sophie, Avery, Mathew, Olivia, Reggie, Jake, Leia and Isaac. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. Eleni was a compassionate friend to all who knew her and her unconditional willingness to help others was a hallmark of who she was. Eleni was an avid golfer at both Dalewood Golf Club, Port Hope and Seminole Lakes CC in Florida. Eleni loved to travel with Courteney and friends. OSMOND, Ashley John “Oscar” of Cobourg, Ontario

Suddenly and unexpectedly at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Sunday, May 21st, 2017, Ashley “Oscar” Osmond at 68 years of age.  Cherished husband of Beth Osmond (nee Loney).  Loving father of Trevor Osmond.  Dear brother of Darral (Lorie), Lorelei (Tim Kelliher), Decima, and Robin (Josephine).  Son of the late Pamela and Percy Osmond.  Son-in-law of Marion and the late D. Claude Loney.  Also missed by his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews from near and afar.  A Memorial Service will be held at MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King St. E. in Cobourg on Friday, May 26th at 11 am.  Reception to follow at the R.C.L. Branch #133 on Orr St. in Cobourg from 1 to 3 pm.  Those wishing may make a memorial donation to the Northumberland Chapter of the M.S.
