Coad, Gary Stewart of St. Thomas, passed away peacefully, with his family by his side at the L.H.S.C. (Victoria Campus), on Saturday, February 23rd, 2013, in his 59th year. Dearly loved husband of Elsie (Koolen) Coad and much loved father of Steve Coad and his wife Shanna of St. Thomas and Lisa Hassan and her husband Nor of Belmont. Loved grandfather of Gregory and Lexi Coad and Zachary and Naomi Hassan. Dear brother of Patricia Erdodi (Al) of St. Thomas and Donna Carruthers (David) of Appin. Dear son-in-law of Nellie Koolen (late Henry) of Sparta and brother-in-law of Peter Koolen (Gayle) of Aylmer, Paula Laemers (Frank) of Port Stanley and Henry Koolen of Sparta. Sadly missed by a number of aunts, cousins and nieces and nephews and friends. Gary was born in London, on July 10th, 1954, the son of the late Stewart and Elizabeth (Marko) Coad. After working at Canadian Timken he founded Coad Heating and Air Conditioning Ltd. Which is now owned and operated by his son Steve. He then worked as a fuels safety inspector of TSSA (technical standards safety authority). Gary was a past volunteer fire fighter for the Yarmouth Fire Department #2 and past councilor for Yarmouth Township. He was a member of St. Anne’s Church.

The family will receive friends at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anne’s Church, Morrison Dr., St. Thomas on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow, with private entombment of ashes in Union Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the London Health Sciences Center (Critical Care Trauma Centre) or charity of choice. Condolences may be sent to
