Clark, Lillian Dr canobitsDied on August 25, 2013 at the age of 94.  Dr. Clark attended Stamford Collegiate and then graduated with an M.D. from the University of Toronto in 1941.  Following an internship at St. Joseph’s Hospital she specialized in Pediatrics at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto and later obtained her fellowship in the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.  In 1944 she joined the Royal Canadian Navy and was posted to the East Coast where she met her future husband, Dr. John Clark.  They were married in 1946 and have two children, James Richard of Toronto and Deborah Jane Allerton (the late Chris) of Kitchener.  They have two granddaughters Kristen Clark Allerton and Kerry Bethany Allerton.  Dr. Clark Practiced Pediatrics in Niagara Falls from 1950 until 1993.  She served on several important medical committees in the Niagara Region and received the Glenn Sawyer Award in 1989 for outstanding service to Medicine and the Community.  She was Honorary President of the Big Sisters Association and a long-time member of the University Women’s Club.  She served on the Board of Governors of Brock University (1990-1996).  She was a lifetime member of Drummond Hill Presbyterian Church where a service of remembrance will take place on Thursday August 29th at 2 o’clock.  Cremation has taken place.  Arrangements entrusted to MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME 5917 Main Street.  If desired, donations to Drummond Hill Church or the Greater Niagara General Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
