Max ClarkCLARK, David Maxwell “Max”, of Caressant Care on Bonnie Place, St. Thomas, passed away at his residence, surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, March 12, 2014, in his 84th year.  Husband for 60 years to Fay (nee MacAlpine) Clark.  Father of Dianne (Ian), Steve (Diane), and Lynne (Craig).  Grandfather of Cary, Tina, Dale, Tanya, Trevor, Troy, Michael, Jody and Lisa.  Great grandfather of Quinton, Cory, Jaydin, Hailey, Matthew, Jarred, Hayden, and Sabryn.   Also survived by several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by two sisters and a brother.  Born in Peterborough, ON, December 2, 1930, he was the son of the late David and Stella (nee Heron) Clark.  Max attended Peterborough Teachers College and began his teaching career in St. Thomas in September of 1955.  He taught for 34 years in Elgin County.  In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place.  A public memorial service to celebrate Max’s life will be held at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160) on Saturday, March 22nd at 2:00 p.m.  Inurnment of his cremated remains will be made privately in Elmdale Memorial Park.  If so desired, memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the St. Thomas Public Library will be gratefully acknowledged.
