web_bruce_clark Passed away on May 29 at age 73 following a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis. He lived that last year of his life as he has lived his entire life: with dignity, grace and joy. Cherished husband of Susan, loving parent of Jennie and Kathryn, dearest brother of Carol Sandilands (Max), treasured son-in-law of Jean Mitchell, beloved brother-in-law of Jan and Rod Peturson. Proud godfather of little Max Moretto. Bruce will be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, and many friends and colleagues. Bruce is also survived by Alan Clark, Jodi Matus and Glenna MacNeil. Bruce retired from Greater Essex County District school board in 1995 where he taught for 28 years and touched the lives of many students. Bruce joined the Sandwich South Fire Department in 1965 as a volunteer firefighter. He rose through the ranks as instructor, officer, Deputy Chief and Chief. In 1995 he became the first full time fire chief in Sandwich South. Bruce retired from Sandwich South/Tecumseh fire service in the fall of 2001. Bruce was past president and member of the Sandwich South/Tecumseh Goodfellows. He was also a member of the Board of Directors, Windsor Goodfellows. Bruce and his buddy Birkly were active in Therapeutic Paws of Canada. Special thanks to VON nurses Sue and Linda and respiratory therapists Antonio and Wendy.
