CHOMEJ, Mrs. Anna (nee Loos) of St. Thomas, passed away at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Saturday, September 28, 2013, in her 85th year.  Wife of 54 years to the late John Chomej (2007).  Mother of Susan Glover, and oma of Cassandra Glover and Wesley Glover, all of St. Thomas.  Also remembered by friends, Tim and Linda White of St. Thomas, as well as several nieces and nephews in Germany.  Anna was the last surviving member of her own immediate family, having been predeceased by two sisters and two brothers.  Born in Kassel, Hessen, Germany, July 18, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Friedrich and Maria-Magdalena (nee Wiegand) Loos.  Anna came to St. Thomas from Germany in 1953.  She was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.  In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and private interment will be made in Union Cemetery.  A public memorial service will be held at The Kingdom Hall, R.R.#7, St. Thomas (Gore Rd. & #4 Highway) on Saturday, October 12th at 1:00 p.m.  Arrangements entrusted to the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160).
