web_Chilman, JamesJames George Chilman, “The Shoe” to some, the “Captain” to others, “Jim” to many, “Dad” for a few; loved to stretch the day out and rarely took a straight path home. A simple man and proud veteran, he loved his golf, the Leafs, puttering in the garden and visiting with friends. He loved a good joke. He also loved his family. The complicated family genetics certainly made for a colourful life. James passed peacefully on May 31, 2014, in the care of the extraordinary staff and volunteers at Hospice of Windsor. Special thanks to Deb Paltridge and Angie Deneweth at the C.C.A.C., and V.O.N. nurse Jackie Robert who kept Jim with us for as long as his will allowed. He was 74. His spirit remains with those he loved and those who loved him, his wife Dorothy and the rest of our crazy blended family, Frank and Emilia, Terri and George, David and Lisa, Angelique and Richard, Coral-Ann, Alex, Sarah and Amanda, his extended family, and many, many friends. If you so desire, donations to Hospice Residential would be appreciated by the family. A private family service was held and cremation has taken place. A gathering to celebrate James’ life will take place Saturday, June 7, 2014 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at R.C.L. Branch # 261, 12326 Lanoue Street, Tecumseh, Ontario.
