It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of our loving mother on January 15, 2018 at 86 years of age. Reunited with her loving husband Kenneth. Cherished mother of Linda (Roger) Proulx, the late Christine (Richard) Schneider, the late Jo-Anne VanZandt, Nancy Squires, Debbie Logan (Jim Komarnicki), Kim Bouliane (Brad Warner), and the late Kenneth Ian Roughton. Adored grandmother of Daric, Tawnya, Kerri, Scott, Lisa, Robbie, Ashley, Shannon, Codie, Bradley, Benjamin, Hayley, Matthew and great grandmother of 15 great grandchildren. Predeceased by her sisters Bernice Hopkins and Lorraine Dunn and her dear friend Arthur Fisher. Dearest aunt of many nieces and nephews. Our mother will always be remembered for her laughter and unwavering love and devotion to her family and friends. Passed away peacefully on January 13, 2018 at Heron Terrace, surrounded by his loving family. Carl was born in Kostel, Croatia to the late Imbro and Ana (nee Bastasic) Makarich. Predeceased by his wife Mary Ann (nee Sverha) Makarich (2010), brother James (2015) and sister-in-law Linda (nee Hauspie) Makarich (1995). Survived by his sister Mary (Michael) Kennedy and brother John. Dear uncle to Michael Germek, Michael Makarich, Mary Jane Sverha-Owen and JoAnne Sverha. Missed by his beloved grandchildren; Rebekah Taylor, Nate, Caleb and Caitlin Whitson. Peacefully rejoined her beloved husband John (2009) on January 10, 2018 at the age 83. Lovingly remembered by her children John, Marie Costello (Roger), Marge, Jim (Liz), Jamie (Colleen) and the late great Jeff (2010). Devoted grandma to Ashley, John, Colleen, Devin, Adrian, Cory, Cody, Darcy, Cody, Katie, Michelle, Jeff, Crystal, Josh, Jason and great grandma to Danica, Shayna, Roxanna, Royce and Cohen. Mary Jane Wickham (nee McKee)

Mary Jane Wickham (nee McKee) of Tecumseh, passed away on January 15, 2018, at Met Hospital with her loving family by her side.  Born August 17, 1930 in Lucknow, Ontario and raised in Toronto, mom was a graduate Registered Nurse from St. Michael’s Hospital (1953).  She was a lifelong care giver in many milieus including: Met Hospital, Central Park Lodge, Riverview Hospital and as a plant nurse at Ford Motor Company. She was a lover of animals and had many dogs and cats throughout her lifetime.  Mary Jane was an avid historian and a keen follower of anything to do with the Royal Family.  A patriotic Canadian, she had a remarkable memory and altruistic attitude her entire life.  Mom lived an active, full life, driving her car and living independently on her own right up until the end.  She will be sadly missed by her son Hugh Wickham, wife Sandra, grandchildren Hugh David and Kate; daughter Christine Small, husband Bob, grandchildren Vanessa, Jenna, B.J., Shanna, and Christopher; son Kevin Wickham, wife Theresa, grandchildren Meagan and Sidney. Mom will also be missed by her countless friends, relatives, and her Golden Retriever Spitfire.  She left a lasting impression on all those that had the opportunity to meet her. Survived by his loving wife of over 60 yrs. Dorothy, sons Mason (Tina) and Dalton. Loving
grandfather of Cecilia Van Horne (Matt) and Kathleen MacDonald (Rebecca).  Dear son of the late W.A. and Millie MacDonald, and predeceased by brother Ross and sisters Eleanor and Alma. Mason was a graduate of Dalhousie University, Springfield College (Mass.) and the University of Florida Born in Sydney N.S., he came to Windsor in 1958 to be a founder of the Western Ontario Institute of Technology, which grew into St. Clair College, where he served as a professor and it’s first Dean of Applied Arts. He put together a dedicated group of outstanding people, inventing programmes which were put into operation, and which were copied in all Canadian colleges and other countries. He coached basketball and hockey and his legacy will also include the Mason H. MacDonald trophy for academic and athletic excellence. He was an Alderman for the Village of Riverside where he spearheaded the Centennial Pool and Save Peche Island and the annexation with Windsor. An avid Spitfire fan, he was a member of the Riverside Sportsmen where he enjoyed Wednesday burgers and a game of pool with Gary and Tom and the Solidarity Boat Club. Always the educator he donates his remains to science, no services will be held and a memorial tree will be planted. Special thanks to the nursing staff of the 6th floor at the Met campus of WRH. Peacefully with family by his side on January 12, 2018, at the age of 71.  Loving husband of Laura (nee Fox) for sixteen and a half years.  Devoted father of Padruig and wife Lynn.  Dear brother of Joyce Wilson (the late David), the late Betty Fentum (Cyril), Carol Hanlon (the late Joe), Barbara Tintinalli (the late Vic), Diane Rabideau “Chickie” (David), Pauline Lockman (Robert) and Andrea Stafford (the late Terry).  Bob will be missed by his sisters-in-law Margaret Fox and Kathy Fulmer (Gary), as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.   Bob retired from Ford Canada after 36 years of service.  He loved his son dearly, spending many years travelling with him for hockey.  He was extremely proud of his son’s time flying with Canada’s Snowbirds.  He enjoyed spending time with his best friend, the late Richard Marchand, and was an avid fisherman. Piazza, John Joseph

John Joseph Piazza was born on December 8, 1948 in Motallegro Sicily, and passed away while surrounded by family on January 14, 2018 at Windsor Regional Hospital-Ouellette Campus.  He is the beloved best friend and husband of Mary (nee Torti) for 44 years.  Loving father of Deanna Chittaro (John), Janice Pacheco, and Anthony Piazza (Elisa).  Proud doting nonno to his 4 “awesome, incredible and stupendous” grandsons Gianni and Matteo Chittaro and Cristiano and Tiago Pacheco.  Predeceassed by his parents Antonino (1975), and Anna (2012).  Dear brother of Gerlando (1952) and Gerry (1955).  Predeceased by caring in-laws Luigi and Fiorinda Torti.  John taught for over 30 years at the elementary and secondary levels of education (Brennan, Assumption and Holy Names).  He was a founding member of the co-op program at WECDSB in the 1980’s, and initiated the co-op bursary at the Board.  He continued mentoring at the Faculty of Education as a Teacher Advisor during his retirement.  He had a passion for teaching, but most of all he loved his family with all his heart.  We sincerely thank all the gifted and special Doctors, Nurses and health-care professionals that cared for John over the last 15 years.  The outstanding work of these angels will never be forgotten!  Especially, we thank the medical staff including former students in ICU that helped him in his final journey.  If you so desire, donations to Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation or Downtown Mission would be appreciated by the family.  Visitation Wednesday 3:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.  Parish prayers at 4:30 p.m.  at Families First 3260 Dougall Ave. South Windsor, 519-969-5841.  On Thursday, family and friends will gather at Families First after 8:00 a.m. until procession at 8:45 a.m. to St. Angela Merici Church, 980 Louis, for Mass at 9:30 a.m.  Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.  Share memories, photos or make a donation at www.FamiliesFirst.ca

He will be sadly missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews, numerous friends and by his best friend Terra-Dog. Doug worked at General Chemical for 31 years and had a life-long passion for farming which he did for more than 40 years. Doug had a great sense of humour and was known for his witty one-liners. He will be remembered as a thinker and a problem solver, and loved fixing things and working in the shop. Peacefully on January 14, 2018 at 86 years of age. Beloved husband of Bernadine (nee Bedard) for 66 years. Loving father of Richard Regier and wife Karen, Charlene and husband Ray Drouillard and Randy Regier and wife Shelley. Treasured Grandpa of Jacqueline (Dane), Francine (David), Jillian (Sean), Chris, Justin, Karlie (Brian), Emily (Corey) and Alicia (Dean). Adored Great Grandpa of Macie, Cameron, Eloise and one on the way. Predeceased by his parents Fred and Adella Regier. Dear brother of the late Gerald (Ursula), late Alvin (late Doris), late Marcella (late Mic Overholt), late Bob (Pat), Blanche (late Milford Overholt), late Vivian (late Ferdie Potier), Rosalie (late Len Jennings), Winnifred (late Wayne Quinn) and Warren (Helen). He will be sadly missed by many in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. Lorne retired from General Motors in 1991 after 41 years. He was a proud member of Unifor Local 1973. He was an active 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus counsel #4924. 86 years, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Erie Shores Hospice.

Beloved husband of over 60 years of Doreen (2012). Loving mother of Shannon and Larry Hyatt, Brad and Sheila Chadwick. Cherished grandfather of Brandon and Jodi Hyatt, Brittany and Lance Tofflemire and Christopher Chadwick. Proud great-grandfather of Austin Hyatt (2015), Hudson Hyatt. Predeceased by sister Donna McIntosh, dearest brother of Ken Chadwick (Karen). Dear brother-in-law of Frances Badman, Dorothy Shilson, Robert Goslin (Linda). Several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive. A special thank you to the Meadows of Wheatley for the wonderful home and care provided over the last five years. Surrounded by her family, Audrey Helen Ellis passed away peacefully, at Copper Terrance Retirement Home, predeceased by her life partner Jerry Marchand (1992), her father Orville Ellis (1965), mother Helen Sobry (2011), brother Shawn Sobry (1998), and infant sister Laura Sobry. Survived by siblings Grace Pennings, (the late Bill – 1996), Leland Sobry (Marianne Bechard), Madelaine Ellis (Scott), and Thomas Sobry. Audrey will be missed by her many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. The family would like to thank all those who cared for and helped make our sister’s last days comfortable. 64 years, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, January 11, 2018, in Leamington. Beloved husband of Wendy (nee Wilson) for 37 years. Loving father of Kristy Renaud and her husband Jessy, and Wayne Steingart. Adored grandfather of Hailey and Lincoln Renaud. Dear brother of Ron and wife Eileen, Ken and wife Nancy, Sue Steingart Lamar, the late Paulette Walker (Cleve), and late Donnie Steingart. Brother-in-law of the late Scott Wilson, Sue Seeger (Ken), the late Ian Wilson, Mark Ribble (Debbie). Always remembered by his many nieces and nephews and their families. Wayne was retired from the H.J. Heinz Co. and Wayne was always well-known at the D and R. Wayne was an avid Harley-Davidson rider. Williams, Robert Dale ‘Bob’

On January 10, 2018 following a lengthy struggle with cancer Bob passed away. His was a creative life well lived.  Bob was a life-time commercial photographer and Studio owner in the US and specialized in the Automotive field. Life partner of Pat Morris Williams. Best friend of son Jeffrey.  Big Brother of Richard Wade Williams, Sally Morris Campbell (Steve) and Beauveau Borie (Beth) Williams.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Bob Williams Scholarship Fund to be awarded to an exceptional individual in the business of Commercial Photography would be appreciated by the family.
