Betty Ann Segedin passed away peacefully on August 14, 2017 with her loving family by her side, she will be dearly missed. Betty was a cherished member of her family and is survived by her husband Larry Kitzman, son Richard Van Der Gulik (Sharon), daughter Brenda Gowing (Jim), daughter Tracy Jarosz (Tim Karges), stepson Larry Kitzman (Joanne) and stepdaughter Leanne Kitzman-Dyol (Gerry). Betty is the proud grandmother of Beth-Ann (Tom), Mathew, Tish (Tyler), Linsey (Mark), Tia, Jewel, Glory, Chantal, Justin, Kyle, Marinia and the great-grandmother of twelve children. Betty is survived by mother-in-law Glory Kitzman and her sister-in-law Theresa Segedin and predeceased by her parents John and Theresa Segedin and her siblings John (Theresa), Rosie (Karl), Eva (John), Jake (Shirley), Helen (Henry), Annie, Barb and Karl. On August 14, 2017, as Betty passed, a new life began. Betty’s grand-daughter Tish gave birth to a healthy baby girl Taya, Betty’s 12th great-grandchild. Taya Anne Betty Cote was born at 9:45 p.m. on August 14, 2017. Miracles really do happen. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the London Heath Science (University Hospital) Cardiac care for their kindness and respectful care provided to Betty while she was in the hospital. A celebration of Betty’s life will be held on August 27, 2017 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the upstairs hall of the Preston’s Royal Canadian Legion, 334 Westminster Drive North, Cambridge. It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved husband, father, Nonno, brother, uncle and friend on August 15, 2017 at the age of 70. Devoted and much-loved husband to Kathy for 46 wonderful years. Cherished father to Antonette and husband Adrian Arvai. Proud Nonno to Adrian, Anna and Anson. Beloved brother to Angela and husband Frank Iorio. Predeceased by his parents Peter (1993) and Frances (2012) Irabelli. Rocco will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Rocco dedicated over 35 years of his career as an accountant with both Ford and Nemak. He could often be found solving Sudoku puzzles and working out at the gym. It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Nonna, Zia and friend at home, surrounded by the love of her family. Reunited with her loving husband, Vincenzo (2007). Devoted mother to Vince, Virginia (Jeff) Beqaj, and Guy. Cherished Nonna to Alana (Francesco), Adrian (Jocelyn) and Julia (Calvin). Loved sister to Giacomo (Ninfa) Luppino. Predeceased by her parents, Gaetano and Paola Luppino, and sisters, Paola, Angela, Dorotea, Leonarda, and brothers-in-law, and baby Francesca. Our mom was special to each of her extended family members and will be missed by her sisters-in-law, cousins, and many nieces and nephews both in Canada, USA and Italy. Antonia was a wonderful mother and Nonna. Her greatest joy was cooking Sunday dinners for her family and guests. She would often travel to Florida, and to Italy to visit her family, and kept in touch throughout the years. She taught us the love of family, caring, gardening and cooking. Our mom left us a legacy of love that we will continue. A special thank you to the staff at WRH – Met Campus ICU, the staff at Hotel Dieu, especially Dr. Roxanna Chow, and CCAC and staff for their care and compassion for our mother. It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Murray Ross Maddams on August 13, 2017 with his loving family by his side. Devoted and much-loved husband to Anna Petrozzi and cherished father to Corri and husband Jason Sencaj, and Jaime Maddams. Proud Papa to Madison, Sydney, Erin, and Brady. He will be missed by brother Doug and wife Nicky Maddams, mother-in-law Antonetta, brother-in-law, Riccardo, and extended family and friends. Murray was predeceased by parents Ross and Eileen, and father-in-law Erminio. Murray had a lifelong passion for physical fitness, fast cars, football, NASCAR, boxing and WWII history. Arlene Rose Payne (nee Benson) died peacefully on August 15, 2017. She is survived by her best friend and husband of over 56 years Donald and two loving daughters Dana (Kevin) and Julie (David). Arlene was the very proud Grandmother to Maranda and Jeremy and special “Grandma” to Amanda and Julia. Arlene lived most of her life in Windsor, working at G.M. Trim for 33 years. Arlene was an amazing friend and will be forever remembered by the many people with whom she shared coffee and conversation. Arlene was always ready to lend a listening ear and this was evident by the many people who supported her though this journey. Arlene’s life will be celebrated on Saturday, August 19 with visitation at 10 am and service at 11 am at St. Augustine Church, 5145 Wyandotte Street E. In lieu of flowers, donations to Transition to Betterness would be appreciated as Arlene strongly believed in giving back.

It is with heavy hearts we announce the tragic passing of Nick on August 10, 2017 at the age of 19 years.  Adored son of Diana Stanisic and Rich Monforton.  Loved grandson of Pauline Stanisic,  Carmel and the late Leo Monforton. It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beautiful and beloved mother and sister Violet “Peanut” Elliott. She is predeceased by her mother Martha (2016) and father George (2009), and former mother-in-law and friend Gwen (2016). She is survived by her loving sons John and Travell; her siblings Carmen (Dale), Raymond, Travis, Mark (Audra), Margo & Marium (Aynk), and her uncle Johnny who was more like her big brother; her adoring grandchildren Mckayla, Markus, Cristian, Lee, Vanessa, Taevein, Kai, Terrance, Jewell, Dorihan, Adrian, and Teghan “TeeTee”; and her special friend and love Gordon. She is also survived by her extended family Twyla, Crystal, Krystal and Tina; nieces, nephews: Randy, Robert, Richard, Brandon, Jasmine, Makai and Naomi. She will be fondly remembered by her grand-nieces & nephews, a host of cousins, aunts, uncles and many, many friends. She was a dedicated and long-time employee of the Holiday Inn. Peanut had a larger than life personality, one of the funniest people you would ever meet. She was guaranteed to put a smile on your face. ALWAYS. Her loud presence was her calling card and we loved her for that. She loved her family dearly and always looked forward to all of our gatherings. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Taken from us tragically on August 13, 2017, both at the age of 66. Daughter of the late Mary and John Kenney. Son of Betty and the late Ralph Best. After getting married in 1972, they were blessed with their children Lisa Grehan (Robert) and Cale Best. Loving grandparents of Emma Grehan. Sister and brother-in-law to Bill Kenney (Peggy), David “Ted” Kenney (Matsy), Katie Knudsen (Karl), Audrey Reaume (the late Frank), Kevin Kenney, Jim Kenney, Irene Siu (Alfred), and Michael Kenney (Louise). Brother and sister-in-law to Kenneth Best (Pamela). Pat and Larry will be missed by many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. A former employee of Windsor Plastics, Pat was an avid bowler and very active in the community volunteering at Hospice and the Crisis Centre. A retiree from Ford after 34 years, Larry was an avid long distance cyclist, and was involved in Kart Racing for many years. Together, they were active in the local motorcycle community and participated in many charity rides in the area. They shared a passion for life, nature, and the outdoors. For those who wish, donations may be made to Erie Wildlife Rescue, the Cat Advocacy and Rescue Association – CARA, or The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County. Passed peacefully on August 13, 2017 after complications from a stroke, at 81 years of age.  Reunited with her husband Michael (David, 2013), her son Michael Douglas (Mike, 2015), her parents Lyle and Elizabeth Wogan.  Loving mother of Elizabeth Boyle (Ron, 2002), Don (Bev) and daughter-in-law Kim.  Loving grandmother of Ron (Mickie), Derek, Melissa (Chris), Shawn (Jamie), Katie (Justin), Amber, Brittany (Jason), Michael (Krystal), Matthew, Lea and great-grandchildren Kylie, Aislyn, Julien, Cara, Isabella, Ethan, Alivia, Jack, Zach, Julia, Liam, Cullen, Kenzie, Anthony, Mackenzie, Brayden, Maddy, Lexi and Evan .  Dear sister of Joanne Bortolotto (Ray, 2007), sister-in-law to Fred Jarrold (Barb), Joyce Jarrold, Jackie Grant and aunt to many nieces and nephews.  Donations may be made in Charlotte’s memory to Hospice of Windsor or Heart & Stroke Foundation.  Visitation Wednesday, August 16th from 3-5 & 7-9 p.m.  Funeral Thursday 10 a.m. at FAMILIES FIRST, 1065 Lauzon Rd., East Windsor, 519-969-5841.  Cremation to follow.  Share memories, photos or make a donation online at www.FamiliesFirst.ca

DRYDEN, Alfred

Alfred William Dryden 93, passed away Monday, August 14th peacefully at Riverside Place Nursing home. We truly appreciate the wonderful care and attention given by the staff. Alfred was born Jan 12, 1924 and is now reunited with his beloved wife Alma Dryden (1918-2008). Alfred is survived by his son Alan Dryden (Evelyn), Ann Best (Dave) and Geoffrey Dryden (Maureen) as well as his five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Alfred served in the British Army in WWII with the Lancashire Fusilliers. His family around the world (England, Australia, Ireland and Canada) will treasure his memories and raise a toast to his wonderful life. No formal service will be held although the family appreciates your thoughts and prayers. Passed away peacefully on August 14, 2017 at 79 years of age.  Beloved husband of Joan (nee Gough) with whom he celebrated 53 years of marriage.  Loving father of Chris (Kelly), Kimberly (Ben Thomas) of Calgary, and Marcy Arsenault (Jason).  Cherished Papa of Jessica and Hailey Todd, Will and Matt Thomas, Jake and Maddox Arsenault.  Born to the late John and Gertrude Todd.  Predeceased by special parents Sam and Rose Marentette.   Dear brother of the late Ted Todd (2012) husband of Joan Todd.  Special brother of Paul Marentette (Muriel) and Shirley Steer (Robert).  Brother-in-law of Ruth McIntyre (Eddie, deceased), Shirley Charles (Ron, deceased), and Michael (Joanne).  Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.  Jack worked for many years as a Private Investigator for Jolie & Todd Investigations.  Thank you to our dear friend Ruth Smith and all the caregivers at Heron Terrace.  Memorial donations in Jack’s memory may be made to Alzheimer Society of Windsor or a charity of your choice.  Visitation Thursday, August 17th from 7-9 p.m.  Memorial Service Friday 11:30 a.m. at FAMILIES FIRST, 1065 Lauzon Rd., East Windsor, 519-969-5841.  Private family interment Heavenly Rest Cemetery.  Share memories, photos or make a donation online at www.FamiliesFirst.ca

Passed away peacefully at home on August 14, 2017 at 90 years of age. Loving wife of the late Gerry (2015).  Cherished mother of Adele and husband Danny Guignard, Richard and wife Nancy Champagne, Lynn and husband Richard Benneian, Terri and husband Gary Corriveau.  Dear daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine Meilleur.  Beloved grandmother of Jessica, Justin, Richard, Ryan, Robert and Christina.  Dear sister of the late Joseph and wife Blanche Meilleur, Leo and his late wife Claudette Meilleur, the late Cecile and her late husband Donald Grant, Irene and husband Real Samson, Jean and her late husband Tony Ledoux, Laurette and her late husband Patrick Gauthier, and the late Rose and her late husband Nell, the late Stella and her late husband Frank and the late Adella.  Leona retired from C.E. Passed away suddenly on August 15, 2017 at 69 years of age.  Loving mother of Christopher (Shelli). Cherished daughter of Vera and the late Donald Campbell. Sister of Leroy (Suzanne), Ron, Wayne and the late Larry.  Best friend of Donna Lucier and Gloria Pillon Scharman.  She will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and family members.  Jo-Ann was a dedicated employee of Amherst Quarries for over 40 years.

PIERZCHALSKI, George John – Surrounded by his family at St. Joseph’s Hospice, George died peacefully on Monday, August 14, 2017 at the age of 85. Beloved husband of the late Natalie (Kiniauskas) (2007). Dear father of Michael (Patti) Pierzchalski, Belmont, Teresa (John) Foster, Burlington and Karen (Robert) Blain, Chatham. Loving grandfather of Alexander, Natalie, Joshua, Luke, Camille, Ayden, Michael and Lauren. Predeceased by parents Marcin & Stella (Rewers) Pierzchalski. It brought George great joy to witness the growth and successes of his grandchildren. George retired from Shell Canada in 1984 after 34 years of committed service. He dedicated his retirement years to being an active volunteer in his community, notably with St. Joseph’s Hospice, Sunshine Dreams for Children and Sacred Heart Church. George was an avid golfer and bowler. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Victoria Hospital, Bluewater Health and St. Joseph’s Hospice. Visitation will be at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia, on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. with prayers offered at 8:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 10 a.m. Cremation will follow.
