It is with great sorrow that the family announces his passing on Sunday Sept 1st, 2013 at the age of 82. Son of the late Elie and Susan (Kelly) Chaput. Married for 53 wonderful years to Reina (Bossé) Chaput of Sudbury. Loving father of Daniel (Suzanne) of Hanmer and Elaine (Wilfrid Montpellier) of Sudbury. Cherished grandpapa to Michel, Roxanne (Adam Bryce), Owen and Wade. Newly great-grandpapa to Eli. Predeceased by his 3 sisters Emma, Lorna, Mary Margaret and by his brother Lawrence (Pauline). Dear brother of Hector (Denise), Earl (Patricia), Raymond (Lise), Terrance (Carmen), Wayne (Wendy), Gerard and Willis all from Pembroke. Brother-in-law to Armand (Eileen) Bossé, Florence (late Emile Vaillancourt), late Romuald (late Jeanette) Bossé, Yvette (late Adam Frolick), Lucile (late Léon) Balez, late Rita (late Ligouri) Lachance, late Fernande Bossé, late Alicia (late Willard) Robinson, Dolores (late Jacques) Groulx, late Huguette (late Loren) Loker, Leona (Daniel) Crowder. Special father to Yvan Lachance (Denise). Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Mike was born in Chapeau Quebec, raised in Pembroke Ont. He then moved to Sudbury (Levack, Onaping and Chelmsford) in the early 1950’s where he worked for Falcondbridge Mine until his retirement in 1985. Mike enjoyed going to his cottage on Ministic Lake, hunting at his camp in Gogama, golfing, fishing, fine dining and spending time with friends and family. Mike had a positive impact on everyone he met. He was always available and willing to help anyone in need. He was charming, generous, funny and very kind to all. He will be greatly missed by every life that he has touched. The family would like to thank all the caring and dedicated staff from the ER, ICU, CVT ICU and 6 south at HSN. The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury, Saturday, Sept 7th, 2013 from 2 to 5 p.m. followed by a funeral service in the Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations (by cheque only) to the Maison Vale Hospice or to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
