Ma passed away peacefully on February 6, 2014 at WRH-Ouellette Campus surrounded by loving family. Wife of the late William Chapman (1952). Loving mother of Doris Walker, John Benny “Ben” & wife Mary Lou. Grandmother to Joseph “Joe” Walker (Julie), Deborah Walker, William “Bill” Chapman (Alison), Lesley Kareem (Wael). Great-grandma to 13 and great-great grandma to 10. Survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Bertha & Benoni Gevaert and sister Lucy Stillman. Georgette was a long time employee of Bell Telephone. She enjoyed cooking, knitting and travelling. She was a life member of the Telcom Pioneers of Canada and a member of the Belgian Canadian Social Club. Georgette was a member of the Church of Ascension, Jubilee Club, the Ascension Fun Band and a member of the Rector’s Senate of Church of the Ascension. Georgette had over 25 years service as a volunteer at Huron Lodge. She was the proud recipient of the “Golden Oldies” Award in 2006 from the Windsor St. Clair Rotary Club for her volunteer work in the community. If you so desire, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Cremation was held.
