CarverCarver, Rev. Arthur “Lloyd” of St. Thomas, passed away peacefully, at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, on Monday, February 17th, 2014.  He is predeceased by his parents William Arthur and Alice (Lee) Carver , his only sibling Robert Vernon Carver and his eldest grandson. He is wished a happy journey to meet “the Big Boss” by his wife of 67 years Helena (nee Borden) and his five children, Fred, Elizabeth Ann, Michael, Bryan and James as well as their spouses. He is also survived by 12 wonderful grandchildren and 8 adorable great grandchildren. Lloyd was an Army Veteran of World War II. He spent many years as Cub Master, Sunday School Superintendent, Little League coach and De Molay mentor. Entering into the Ministry of the United Church of Canada in 1971, he served congregations in New Brunswick and Ontario. He was appointed as the Grand Chaplain of the Grand Lodge of New Brunswick, was a 67 year Mason and an active member until recently of the Order of the Eastern Star.

A Public Memorial service to celebrate Lloyd’s life will be held at St. Andrew’s United Church,  60 West Ave., St. Thomas on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. Visitation at the Church on Wednesday from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity close to Dad’s heart. Order of the Eastern Star, Grand Chapter of Ontario, Estarl Fund. (c/o Mr. Pat Delany, 36 Downpatrick Crescent, Toronto, On.
